  1. Stolen tail light thread

I ended up printing some hollow cones on my resin 3D printer, and used JBWeld SteelStick to "cement" them over the bolts. At least it would make it very difficult if not impossible to grab with vice grips. Not perfect, but might make it more trouble than it's worth to defeat.
  2. Stolen tail light thread

I've decided that this week I'm going to take some JB Weld SteelStick, which is epoxy putty, and build up over the existing screws' washers and over the bolt head. That way I can give them a taper that will make it impossible to use a socket and very difficult to grab with pliers. If I need to...
  3. 2022 Ranger Tremor Lariat purchase, what to look for?

My 22 Lariat Tremor has a build date of 1/22, currently at 31,000 miles. I got the LED headlights and Auto Start/Stop. No hood struts, but I do have the mount balls for them. Issues: - I had one door handle that was plain plastic instead of painted, fixed by dealer - Rear driver side shock...
  4. Adaptive Cruise Issue

75 degrees, clear and sunny. Clean truck, no mods. I agree that anything automatic related to driving has to be supervised (and I was). It just strikes me as a software issue that is definitely a safety concern.
  5. Adaptive Cruise Issue

Makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one that's experienced this. The fact I could hit Cancel then Resume and it responded immediately makes me think software...
  6. Adaptive Cruise Issue

I experienced a strange behavior today with adaptive cruise. It also happened earlier this year, but I wrote it off at the time thinking I was imagining things... I was heading down the turnpike with adaptive cruise at 81. I noticed at some point that I seemed to be getting a little closer than...
  7. To buy extended warranty or not ?

I did because of the transmission issues people are seeing. I went with Grainger Ford. Great pricing and easy to do. It shows in my FordPass account as expected.
  8. What did you miss when taking delivery?

Late to the thread, but my Lariat Tremor had three painted door handles and one standard plastic one. Took me a week to notice. Dealership had to order one and have it painted.
  9. FIXED: Passenger seat rattle

For sure, check out that TSB and make sure they check that. Also check to make sure your seatbelt buckle (both sides) aren't rattling against things. I worked through all that before I resorted to tearing into the seat. From what I can tell, the TSB is related to the base and track components...
  10. FIXED: Passenger seat rattle

Correct. Didn’t take much of a bump at all.
  11. List of 10R80 transmission threads...so far...

I guess it's now called a "Protect" plan. Essentially the extended warranty. I went with a 5/125 PremiumCare.
  12. List of 10R80 transmission threads...so far...

Yeah, just pulled the trigger on an ESP from Granger Ford. This thread helped push me over the edge...
  13. FIXED: Passenger seat rattle

I've been dealing with a persistent rattle in my passenger seat. I had gone through all the threads and none of the causes applied. Not seat belt, not the base being loose (TSB), not a headrest spring. Rattle occurred during engine start or standard driving when a passenger wasn't in the seat...
  14. Will relocating the oil filter void warranty?

This little HyperTough from Walmart for 4.88 works like a charm too. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Tough-Adjustable-Filter-Wrench-63-5mm-98mm-Model-4209/55524390?wl13=743&selectedSellerId=0
  15. Threw in the towel on my Ranger

One thing I felt helped greatly with heat was to have the windshield tinted with LLumar AIR tint. https://llumar.com/na/en/automotive/window-tint/clear/
  16. Tailgate Mat

I ended up getting the Weathertech two weeks ago. Seems nice. I gave up trying to find the Ford cover.
  17. Tailgate Mat

Anyone have recommendations for inside tailgate protection? I have the Ford bed mat and a BakFlip MX4 cover, but would like something to protect the tailgate. Already getting kind of rough from sliding things across it.
  18. Reconnect glovebox damper-2020

I have a 22 so I’m damperless. But if it’s like my Explorer where it is a little cord you have to try to pull, I use a pair of locking forceps to hold the cord and pull it into place. Works great.
  19. Rear shock bolt worked loose

FYI, I had a weird rattle in the back end on my 22 Lariat Tremor. Had one of my kids bounce it up and down and I discovered the lower mounting bolt on the driver side rear shock was flat out loose and moving. Not sure if not properly torqued at the factory or what, but I don't see any type of...
  20. Differentials and Transfer Case Fluid Change

I document things that would affect warranty, like motor oil and filter. Rear diff I did not, because Ford doesn't specify a change until 150,000, and I don't want to give any excuse for denying a warranty claim (i.e. you must have used the wrong oil, etc). I maintain separate complete records...
