So while I initially thought my problem was fixed, I ended up getting lucky and am working on a different location this week. The Ford dealer down the road will take a look on Friday, I am going to explain my issue and hope they can sort me out. All the more local dealers are still booked out...
I am taking it back to where I bought it, I've had good experiences there and I want a second opinion. I have since noticed if I turn the floor vent on after the top vents are running, it gets slightly colder. I did have clicking noises in my dashboard but I haven't heard them since this winter...
This actually all started because of that exact weather here in Boston, 85-95 degree days work 60+% humidity. I step outside and sweat before I can get to the truck.
I'm not sure what caused it to go low on coolant, this is my first new vehicle so I have been leaving the maintenance up to the dealer service dept, and not doing it myself. Haven't noticed any leaks of any kind.
Yup, $20 jug of coolant is a price I can stomach, wish I had opened my eyes before taking it to the dealer however!
Yup, regular engine coolant. Looked at the reservoir and noticed it was just slightly under the minimum fill line. I filled it in the Auto Zone parking lot, by the time I started...
I was so frustrated and assuming it was going to be a much more involved repair. Why check the level of the liquid that exists to transfer heat? To your point, I did the same when I installed my aftermarket CAI.
I splurged on some ceramic window tint, it helps a ton with the black interior + no...
Solved - coolant level was ... sub-optimal.
I never checked, I always take it to the dealer since I have the extended maintenance plan. Never thought to look. Guess the dealer and I both dropped the ball here.
Big thanks again, all.
I think I would have to take it back to the dealer and tell them to check the blend door again, I would rather go back to where I bought the truck this time. They were not the ones I had check it a couple days ago.
The money stings more since they couldn't even fix anything, I was trying to give...
Yes, right now it's parked at work and I can ensure all 3 of those variables.
Poor guy, I've been there. Wondering why the house is warm with the kitchen windows left open since I forgot, ha.
I was hoping I could assume the dealer checked that out when I dropped it off, however if the box was...
Great chart, right now it's 50% humidity and about 95, so it does appear to be functioning according to that. Certainly no other obvious blockages, vents by the windshield are clear and no mice homes / debris.
I am hoping to get as low as 45, after letting it sit in the parking lot for 10...
Good afternoon, I'm experiencing a problem where my A/C won't blow under 60 degrees in my 2019 Ranger. I my understanding is that most A/C systems should have temperatures around 30-45 degrees from the vent. I spent a couple of weeks driving around with a thermometer in the vent, and it would...
I just picked my truck up from the dealership. I put in a new cabin air filter myself before I dropped it off. They said they checked my blend doors and they are operating properly, which is good. They evacuated the refrigerant, found no leaks and put it back in since it was the correct amount...
Excellent, I have ordered a new Motorcraft cabin air filter, it's due to be replaced either way so I will open it up when my new one arrives shortly.
I want to drive a rolling meat locker! But seriously thank you for the detailed reply. I have been experimenting on my drives to and from work...
I set temperature to low, fan on highest speed and recirculate on. Only goes a little below 60 when driving. I'm not crazy that it should be lower right? It's struggling to keep the cab cool.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm having this exact issue. 52,000 miles and my ac won't blow colder than 60. Ac gauge says it has enough refrigerant. Going to have to take it in to get looked at, my dealer is booked up until August they told me.
Awesome write up. Thank you!
Would also work to remove the entire fog light housing? I bought full replacements not just the bulb but have been afraid to attempt it.
Totally, it just changes shifting and braking behavior. This is copy and paste from the Ford manual " Standard Tow/Haul Mode reduces gear hunting, improves power delivery. Especially useful with hauling or towing a heavy load. "
