Glad we solved that mystery. Fwiw, I have a coworker who bought his FX4 ranger just to daily and use for hog hunting. Maybe previous owner of yours was a hunter?
I am not certain what those 2 circles are, but they don't look like parking sensors. I did not have those on my 21 Lariat with CoPilot 360. That is worth inspecting further to see if any wires run to them, or if they're part of the mount.
For reference, the camera used for lane keeping and...
While I cannot speak for relocation brackets, I do want to point out that the radar as you see it, is actually behind relatively thick plastic already. The radar itself is much smaller than the black square below your front plate and the plastic serves as a protector for the radar that is much...
Nice and easy "mod" today. Finally got around to transferring my sticker collection from my old sliding window to my new windoor. On a completely unrelated note, baby wipes do a great job at removing gorilla glue from fingers.
Why is this thread still going? Devolved into a bunch of political nonsense. Can we go back to talking about Ford Rangers, or making fun of Tacomas? I come here to read truck shit and avoid the political Facebook crap, not have more of it constantly shuttled to the top of this forum.
east of the Mississippi is usually a pain no matter how you slice it. Made the drive back and forth a couple times now. Once you’re west of Kansas City, it’s not bad. Drive straight for 600 miles.
Pure recall volume is a weird metric to go off of, I'd like to see it compared to the total number of vehicles Ford is producing against its competitors. Is the rate of recalls exceeding that of other manufacturers, or is Ford just producing a lot of cars?
Main concern would be trailer brakes with the automatic braking, as if you have a brake controller other than the OEM Ford one, it may not apply the trailer brakes during emergency braking.
That being said, I towed a UHaul tandem axle trailer with hydraulic surge brakes from Florida to Colorado...
This weekend I knocked out a couple little things. Created a mount point for my new Ignik ammo can fire pit next to the jackery, mounted some LED strip lights for camp, and give ole girl a bath.
Generally speaking, yes, you can just drill the holes out. Parking sensor clips essentially clamp around the bumper.
That being said, you get what you pay for with bumpers. Make sure the one you are purchasing is rated to operate with safety systems, otherwise you risk airbags not deploying in...
Version 3 build shakedown run way a success! Red Cone completed, no loud clunking or things breaking. Really happy with these HD drawer slides. Shoutout to @AndyMedic for his magic touch fixing the lock mechanism on my fridge slide.
Also big thanks to @AndyMedic and @Colo_Ranger for the...
Bump.....
I turned my drivers side into a "long travel" running board this weekend, about time I invest in some actual sliders.
Open to White Knuckle, ARB, or other frame mounted sliders.
I am not aware of any headlight housings for the Ranger that are amber. Amber tint/film could be applied to the housing, but it likely would not last long. I think your best best would be to get amber fog lights and edit forscan so your fogs are always on.
Drivetrain shudder under low throttle is an issue across all rangers. Mixture of the 2 piece driveshaft and tendency for the 10 speed to lug the engine in an attempt to save MPG. It is annoying, but not bad for the truck. You have a couple options to address this if you want:
1. Tunes tend to...
Some updated pics. I am considering the initial buildup "done" at this point. I have a lot of ideas swimming around my head on how to best utilize this space, and I do still want to paint or carpet it. That being said, this setup will get me through the weekend doing a shakedown run on Red Cone...
"Finished" building version 3 of my bed storage setup. Now featuring decent quality wood, 500lb drawer slides, and a cabinet for the drivers side windoor. Build this up to have the passenger space open to store my bicycle somewhere weatherproof and not easy to steal.
The fridge is not on a drop...
