good looking out. I've had mine on lifts and fortunately no paint issues like that. I've been through two winters with the Ranger and minor surface rust on some crossmembers. I am planning on wire brushing and shooting with rustoleum when the weather gets better.
I would imagine that would be covered under warranty. Its a good thing you caught it quickly before the rust monster could take hold.
On the bright side, the first scratch is always the worst..
I have Yakima overhaul HD's. I didn't have to buy locks for extra. You might have to pay extra if you want accessories keyed alike to your rack. The racks are pricey though.
I don't think all T slots are the same. I couldn't find the ones for the overhaul and bought some Thule T bolts. Had to...
More thoughts on this issue. I'm wondering if the decision to remove the struts might have something to do with the hood (and panels) changing from aluminum to steel? Steel weighs about 2X more than aluminum. Maybe the engineers felt the hood struts couldn't safely support the extra weight...
I got curious and checked for next gen under hood videos. no hood struts either. this may not represent the US version.
This video is probably from Thailand but there is definitely a hood prop rod.
Interesting thought. I didn't read the description near the bottom of the page. I imagine all fiberglass and carbon fiber hoods would have the gas strut stress issues.
I don't mind paying for sync or ford pass app features if the price justifies the value I'm getting for using these features. I would rather have to pay than use these features for "free" and have all my personal / driving info taken and sold. But in this day and age they might charge us and...
I forgot to mention that the WA BDR group run thread in the west coast forum might be worth looking into. not sure you want to run a North /South trail though. I'm also looking to try the Natches trail this summer. don't know if it would be considered an overland trail as i think it's only about...
Awesome story and a side of the 80's auto industry I've not heard of. I've been on a few forums for other vehicles I've had in the past, but this one has the most interesting stories from people in the manufacturing industry. Thanks for sharing!
Until the Californians ruin it. ? ? ?
I'm thinking about being one of the Washingtonians that ruin it. ???
ID, NV or AZ. can't quite decide. but you better bet I'll ruin it! ???
I wonder if MO is doing something like WA right now? Many of us in WA are seeing our insurance rates go up because our insurance commissioner announced a temporary rule that banned insurance companies from using a person's credit scores when setting up rates. There is a lawsuit pending and the...
