I would imagine that would be covered under warranty. Its a good thing you caught it quickly before the rust monster could take hold. On the bright side, the first scratch is always the worst..:facepalm:

I have Yakima overhaul HD's. I didn't have to buy locks for extra. You might have to pay extra if you want accessories keyed alike to your rack. The racks are pricey though. I don't think all T slots are the same. I couldn't find the ones for the overhaul and bought some Thule T bolts. Had to...

My guess is 6 inches. Ford said the ranger will be 2 inches wider. That raptor looks like it has 2" fender flares.

More thoughts on this issue. I'm wondering if the decision to remove the struts might have something to do with the hood (and panels) changing from aluminum to steel? Steel weighs about 2X more than aluminum. Maybe the engineers felt the hood struts couldn't safely support the extra weight...

I got curious and checked for next gen under hood videos. no hood struts either. this may not represent the US version. This video is probably from Thailand but there is definitely a hood prop rod.

Interesting thought. I didn't read the description near the bottom of the page. I imagine all fiberglass and carbon fiber hoods would have the gas strut stress issues.
