So I have only had my 19 Ranger for a couple weeks now but with any vehicle achieving significantly less than rated mpgs (I would say 2-3 mpg than EPA rating) check common items.
You checked the brakes with a thermal camera but did you look at the pads physically? Could be a sticking caliber...
Start with a locksmith, some will even go to his house or wherever the truck is, just make sure he gets two sets this time. When I bought my Ranger two weeks ago, I also only received one key and had another fob cut and programmed for $200 including the fob whereas the dealer wanted $250 just...
I guess I'll pony up for the app. I've never paid for an app before as I've not believed in buying an app. I just like to keep an eye on actual engine and trans temps while I'm driving in congested traffic and/or pulling a trailer. Engine stays below 200 when in bumper to bumper in 100+ degree heat.
Glad mine is a 19. I read though the thread of what has been removed and never have I been so glad to have an early build on a vehicle. I thought they were supposed to make improvements over time?
That's good to know. Most of my driving is basically empty driving, although I have already pulled a trailer with this truck. Houston traffic can really heat up trans fluid though, which is why I was disappointed there wasn't a screen to see trans temp like the GM trucks. It's not a 4x4 (next...
Seeing the pictures side by side, I can see the difference now. Shame. Still want a drain plug so I'll be picking up and after market and have time to decide if I want the extra capacity or not. I think they went backwards adding one to the rear diff but taking it away from the trans. At least...
Well I just got my 19 Ranger a couple weeks ago and it has just shy of 78k now. This thread is making me wonder if it'll be worth paying the dealer to change them out for their highway robbery cost to prevent issues and then change them myself every 30-50k seeing as plugs are cheap to do and...
That is what I was wondering. I knew there had to be a reason that it wasn't recommended here. Any idea as to why they wanted to have different pan bolt up patterns?
So I'll be taking my Ranger to my trusted shop to change the fluid and filter when it needs an oil change and plan on them changing the plastic pan out for one that has a drain plug. I am doing that so when my extended warranty is out, I can do it myself without the mess that Ford seems to think...
Well it’s been very hot here in Houston so I’m still feeling it out before I decide to have it looked at. Currently debating if I’m going to change the spark plugs myself or bite the bullet for the shop I trust to do so as apparently, some folks are reporting issues with removing the old ones.
Wonder if it’s as fast of an unofficial fix like in the 10th green F150s where that too was an issue. Behind the passenger side dash you could cut an access hole to get to the blend door to prevent tearing the dash apart. Dorman even made a special blend door version for this method of repair.
Well at least mine seems to have a good amount of safety features to make the insurance company happy. I do appreciate the help and knowledge regardless!
