I think this is the first objective review I've read from an owner of the new Frontier. Interesting to see the list of quality issues. Welcome back to the Ranger family! I'm encouraged to read your opinion of it.
I've read that the front wheels are further forward and it's supposed to be something like 1/2" wider wheelbase. I'll bet it drives basically the same. I mean if someone put a gun to my head and said buy a Raptor to save your life I guess I'd have to save my life...
@OrangeStreak - oh no this is a competition I'm not sure I want to win and now I'm a bit more self-aware of my amazon spending habits ?
As far as the dump goes - I mean Soupie has his own sticker, how am I going to compete with that?
@got3fords - in that case the plot thickens. Either some a-hole thought you were somebody else or was just jealous of your nice truck and was having a no-good very-bad day..
Per the legend himself (Project Farm)
This Pennzoil is, along with the Valvoline, a great synthetic to run in a GDI engine due to its ability to resist evaporation. Will be less sticky over time according to Todd. Based on this video I decided to order the Pennzoil 5w-30 for my oil changes.
Everybody so far has glossed over the fact that this happened at work. I think it's time to fess up. Are you a supervisor or what? Who did you piss off?
I got this cool little Loki Thor! (The name cracks me up every time.) Battery jump pack AND 150 psi. tire inflator. AND USB device charger. AND! 300 Lumen work light ?
For $140 I have a feeling yours truly be using it on other peoples' cars more often than my own truck. But feels great to have...
Kristina I just looked up this DPF Regen issue out of curiosity - so your commute is not long enough to get the engine hot enough to catalyze diesel emissions and you've got to drive around and look at rabbits? Ouch!
Did the dealer factor short commutes into your previous diesel emission issue?
Hot Car's 10 used cars to avoid are 100% Ford vehicles. What a hit piece if I've ever seen one. The competition's consultant can be proud of himself that he got this "published" and furthermore got a content-desperate MSN to triple-link it as if it's informative journalism.
Don't worry folks we...
From one Dr. to another, thanks for a great guide and all of the definitive sizes for ValvoMax and filters, etc. I'm at 4,200 miles and ordered everything for my first 5k!
@LaBalbe Check this video - I bet you have a remote start climate control setting configured that has the footwell disabled.

Hang on a second; are you saying there's a thread here with your Ranger engineering & development stories? How is this not stickied? Was it created by you?
I'm going to look for it now...
Edit: I FOUND IT.
I've been reading that the next-gen 150 Lightning, Ranger "Lightning", and Bronco "Lightning" are to be on the TE1 platform that is currently under development. Slated to debut in 2025 with the 150. Ranger and Bronco now famously rumored to follow 2029.
Yes for sure! In my personal case living in the desert I am generally concerned about lack of moisture so I left that off my own worry list. It's a very important point to bring up here because most people are not living in a climate similar to my own.
