Unless they lock to the tailgate in a way that you can't open the tailgate without unlocking the cover, it's no more secure.

Yeah I have the window vent covers so I can keep the windows open some and keep it from getting too much like a green house in the truck. I also put the accessory sunshade in the front window, not sure how the camera fit will effect that.

If you are pulling that pinout for the connector from this site (targeting the NA in the USA and CAN), it may not match ROW Rangers pinouts. I'm not sure as I've not looked into ROW wiring, but I know there are differences as we only got the 2.3L petrel version of the Ranger, no Diesels here.
