Since this engine was designed NOT TO IDLE, i would think disabling stop/start would have a worse affect on the engine.
Do you actually think ford grabbed an engine from 1985 off the shelf and added a turbo and start/stop?
This engine was designed for turbo.
It was designed for start/stop...
Come on. The engine was designed from ground up for turbo and start/stop.
You sound like they took an engine from 1985 off the self amd trew a turbo amd start/stop on it.
The back seat would never be a factor in buying a vehicle or not for me.
But i would never buy a truck that has less payload, less towing, less torque, worse MPG, horrible driver comfort, drums breaks, and is more expensive than a competitor.
But that is just me.
I run 89 octane in my supercab 4x4 and am averaging over 26 mpg.
Doubt if 91 would improve on that, though i will run 91 when towing for the little extra power.
don't think that was OEM. I searched Ford Parts when i saw this post. found the diagrams that show all parts on steering column, ignition switch, housing, etc. nothing shown between the switch and steering column bezel.
" Maybe the FX4 suspension really shines off road versus on the streets?"
Yes, the suspension was designed for off road.....and as expected street suffers a bit.
Go on the xplan site, get your code. Then build the truck you sre ordering.
Xplan prices will be used. Take that to the dealer to make sure their price is the same.
Or use for negotiation. "Look, i can get this price at any dealer, why should i buy here? What are you gonna do to get my...
no experience with continental.
my F150 had Goodyear Wrangler SA as OEM tire. those were really good in the snow.
I also have used the Cooper Discoverer and General Grabber and where both very good in the snow.
How did you get hankook on non fx????
I got bridgestones on my 4x4.
Well, if AT is what you are after, the best tires i have had in the snow were the Falken Wildtrack or whatever they sre called. Kinda agressive, but rode nice and ate up snow.
Did you get rear locker?
has much more to do than light acceleration. The truck is capable.
I have not reset my avg since I left the dealer 1,800 miles ago.
display is currently at 26.3 mpg. that is a mix of city and country 2 lane. only around 100 miles have been highway. The truck is capable.
the old ranger supercab doors where an issue. I had one that had the passenger rear door rusted shut.....never did get it open.
These rear doors are larger and a much better design. I don't see the same issues popping up.
I think the issue was a poor latch design rather than the cab...
