I just read the Avalara article on state sales tax collection. What an absolute mess. This issue would cause me to rethink even going into business, so mad props to you Mike for pushing on. I can see why Avalara might charge a substantial fee.

It has all the markings of the 6R80 lead frame problem. So, yes, how would a software update truly address this?

I have the Alpha III Concepts kit installed and while I like it (the mounting bracket in the engine bay works really nicely) I'm not sure they got the dipstick length correct (mid-stick on the Ford OEM stick (35) is at the low end (25) on the A3C stick so...
Sorry you've had less than good luck with Dorman. I've actually had great experiences with Dorman products.
In fact, Dorman saved my butt when I had the 6R80 lead frame problem on my older F-150 and Dorman was the ONLY place I could get a replacement (dealer wanted almost $3k to do the repair...

That metal bracket...? No one knows what it's for. There was a thread no more than two weeks ago discussing it.
I can't imagine it's easy to install/remove. So what a waste of a pickup cargo bed. If this is what someone wants, probably better to get an Explorer or Expedition (if sticking with Ford) and go with a rack mounted tent platform....

To the dealers I'd say, "What audacity! Have you no shame?" But since most people just roll over refusals like ours are (too) few and far between. They do it b/c they can easily get away with it.
