Technically, you don't need the UCAs unless you can't get your alignment back in spec after the lift.
If you are doing serious off roading with the truck, then UCAs can potentially provide more travel.
That said, I don't do serious off roading with my truck and I have a set of Icon UCAs...
Now, the keys were in a CLOSED cup holder, so security was obviously high on the owner's priority list.
Sounds to me like the owner was itching to have someone relieve him of the Panzerwagen and the good Samaritan teleported in to help him out.
