I didn't know about the Ford controller... I was just planning on using a P3 like I have in the past. I am interested in the OEM option now.
I will be towing with a trailer I've had for awhile with several tow vehicles. I plan to do airbags on the rear suspension so it won't squat on me...
I am going to place an order tomorrow on a truck and I am a bit worried about how long it will take. I suppose we'll see. As soon as I place the order, I'll be ordering and HP Tuners adapter and I'll likely put it on the dyno the day I get it. :)
I retired from the Air Force earlier this year and have been juggling a position at FEMA and my own business (ECU tuning). We've decided that I will quit FEMA and just do my own business on my own schedule/pace, in the spring. I'm still fairly young (39), so I am now at a point where I want to...
The purpose of the valve is to relieve pressure when the throttle is closed to keep the turbo from going into compressor surge. They either work, or they don't. OEM valve sometimes become and issue when more than OEM boost is run, and they start to leak under boost.
As for a BOV vs...
14.7 PSI is roughly what you'd see at 'sea level', barring any high or low pressure front. Where I live at 8k feet above sea level, I generally see 10-11 PSI (12's when I drive into Denver) of atmospheric pressure (vacuum readings of -7PSI/14.x inHg on one of my cars, where near sea level, it...
Not an owner yet, but I am pretty sure I will order a Ranger here in the next few months. Will be my first new vehicle. I will use it as a daily and tow vehicle for my track car and RZR's, but I will likely tune it for development purposes as I tune for a living. I like the Ranger because...
Generally, barometric pressure will be used in compensation tables for boost, VE, etc. As you lose baro pressure, your turbo (particularly the small ones found on an OEM like this) will start running out of its efficiency island, so you may see boost go down at really high altitudes (same with...
Tuning is a bit better than the days of GD Subaru's (and any EJ Subaru at that). Although I do agree that you'd want to tune for a downpipe, it's not quite the same as it used to be in erratic boost control, boost creep, and potentially running lean. I haven't looked any of the Ranger maps...
