  1. How much is it to fix a tire in your Area!

It baffles me that you perceive anything in this thread as a hissy, but I guess we all have different levels of triggering. Stating your opinion of a plug as absolute fact, does not make it so. All I ask if for data to support the ineffectiveness or safety risk of a properly placed and...
  2. How much is it to fix a tire in your Area!

Perceived liability is a growing factor in many businesses. There was a thread here recently about tire shops not willing to install anything other than factory tire size, regardless of what mods were done to the vehicle or what tire size they were replacing. I feel you on the commie part...
  3. How much is it to fix a tire in your Area!

I will concede to your expertise on raw doggin' in Thailand. ;)
  4. How much is it to fix a tire in your Area!

The Tread Connection article states plugs are safe when installed properly, to an acceptable type and location of damage. The Carabin Shaw article notes 4 court cases in the last 26 years, one was patch only which is not relevant to a plug only discussion. One claims the second repair was done...
  5. How much is it to fix a tire in your Area!

For everyone that says do a "proper" repair can you reference any data of plugs failing? I've installed many plugs on my, and on customer's tires over the years and never had, nor heard of a failure due to the plug. As to cost, that is fantastic that DT and various other do it for free, I don't...
  6. Fender air box feed

From my POV increasing the air flow into the air box is only beneficial if you also increase the airflow capacity between the air box and intake manifold (and increase exhaust capacity). If a 3 inch pipe feeds the intake manifold, there's not much point in installing a 6 inch feed into the air...

  8. What did you do to your Ranger today?

I'm generally not a fan of running boards, but they look pretty good.
  9. What did you do to your Ranger today?

I have 6-8 chips and few dents already, not including the recent wheel stud damage on my hood. Not only the worst paint I have ever experienced, but the body panels are soft as well.
  10. What did you do to your Ranger today?

That's awesome, looking forward to install review and photos :)
  11. I'm Over Winter!

I have a multi-month road trip I want to do through AZ, UT, CA, etc, and planning to start in late December, so I can get north before that ridiculousness starts, lol.
  12. I'm Over Winter!

Yuk! I start sweating above freezing. I went to Vegas in August 2007, it was a mistake, lol.
  13. I'm Over Winter!

Monday from my dash cam :)
  14. Anyone Raptor-coat their Ranger yet?

Originally I planned on doing the rockers, lower door skins, wheel wells, and Warn Ascent front bumper. Since then however I've expanded the plan, and now doing the panel above the bumper, both fenders, both quarters, and both doors. I'll do right to the window trim, and box trim, then, then use...
  15. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Nice find! I am very interested in the rear with red brake light. I am just waiting for your install and confirmation that it works without errors, as other add-on rear lights tend to cause.
  16. First big(ish) road trip!

Yes sir, there's always a silver lining. No injuries, no other body damage (that I've noticed yet) and I was able to maintain the ETA to pick-up Trixie. If the wheel had come off, there would probably be extensive wheel well body damage, rear bumper/cover, rear quarter, rotor, caliper, brake...
  17. When to do first service?

Ford recommends 16,000km between oil changes. I played it safe and did it early at 15,974km (9924 miles). I'm at 31,818km and almost ready to do the 2nd. I use full synthetic, Mobil 1 or Castrol.
  18. First big(ish) road trip!

Broken wheel stud damage on the hood. HTF does a stud go from under the truck, to over the top and hit the hood hard enough to scratch and dent it?
  19. First big(ish) road trip!

Grab a coffee and comfy chair, it's a long post. The first day was uneventful. I left early that morning to avoid Toronto-commuters traffic, and pushed -13 hours to be ahead of schedule in case of weather or un-planned events. I parked in the entrance way to Neys Provincial Park. It is closed...
