Random underboost problem that didn't come back with a factory bov and a tune. If I was gonna shotgun a part that would be it.
Off to research better BOVs....
After mine tried to turn me towards oncoming traffic because of an asphalt repair line (im guessing anyway.. but it sure as hell tried to move me to the left)... I switched mine to the rumble only at the next red-light.
I'd like to see the peer reviewed journals/documentation that definitively says overfilling with an oil way thicker than recommended is a good idea.
Demand proof and provide none... hmm. Previously banned troll that finally learned what a VPN is?
My evidence is semi bullshit because no videos...
Mine was about to go back for a third time until a tip from someone on the forum helped me solve the problem.
I hope it ends up being as easy as my issue.
(It wasn't electrical.. noises. grease on an odd part and them torqueing the bed in right was the solution. Ford missed the grease thing)
I'll take a pic once my AEM dryflow shows up. My last one was grey, but that was a cone filter on a small car. The pic on Stage 3 seems to be the same.. we shall see.
PM me if you want the K&N with 18k miles in its original box for the price of shipping. Id say local pickup in Houston, but...
Like other said; handheld thing talking to the ECM, etc.
I am pretty sure their tune will do what the LMS tuner does - you will get to see EVERY warning screen that Ford programs in as it rewrites stuff. It might make some panic to see that amount of crazy.
The funniest warning was the one...
Thanks to DNA testing I was able to confirm my middle name isn't BS; a bit of a mutt but mostly Irish. I didn't drink green beer, but have enough to celebrate it right I think. Now: to get back to where my ancestors came from and see more than just the airport before heading into combat.
When a typo shows up in the first sentence of their description. I think Ill stick with one of the tuners that many have used that didn't send a piston thru the oil pan. It is cheap... also another red flag.
Not going to say do what I did and go LMS, but... please research the options that...
My tuner is in my glove box. Need to email them and see how hot is too hot for the box..... @Livernois Motorsports
That said. I'm done with dealer oil changes as i got a few for free and got tired of waiting 2 hours for them to finish. I'd rather have a beer and teach the kids how to turn a...
You assholes got me to order an AEM dryflow from Stage 3 today.. might give away the K&N for shipping once I take it out in a week or so.
Used for about 18k miles.
Here is my experience:
Livernois driving like a human = a small bump in mpg which is nice - and I was running ASS just before I got the tune and they turned it off. Especially on the highway.
Livernosis driving like you think you're the stig = no... its just.. no.. bad.. don't pay attention...
I put in 6; run it to look around for leaks. Let it sit. Then when it is settled - bring it to the top mark for full - that Id assume is around .1 or .2 of a quart. The rest of that quart goes in the swingcase if I ever need to top it off. So far; not needed. 6 on its own does not bring mine to...
I couldn't clear the code at all with the tuner or my normal obd2 code reader. I had to follow weirdly specific instructions that were pretty easy. Once the relearn was done, it cleared it on its own without an erase CEL command. A bit.. odd relative to other CEL issues I've run into on other...
I got that CEL going back to the 91/93 SS tune from the towing one I didn't like. Tried to go back to stock. CEL stayed. In a bit of a panic because I was doing this flashing too late to call for help. I checked the tools/options on the box from LMS. Noticed the relearn for the crank button...
I'm already rolling the dice with a tune and only 19k miles. I want to be the dude that gets 150k with a LMS tune and it is still running with basic but early maintenance. Before I see a real issue.
After driving for a bit with that sound. I've found it only does it when it's 50 something degrees outside on mine. It doesn't matter how warm the engine bay itself is... which I find odd. 51 to 59 ambient on moderate acceleration.. rattle. Tune or no. Same same.
