Drove across the south side of Michigan’s upper peninsula and crossed the Mackinaw bridge. Still some thick ice along the shoreline in some areas of Lake Michigan in the UP (photo of ice was in Escanaba).
My 20-yr old son is the fisherman of the family - so we got him a fishing kayak. I bought a Harbor Freight bed extender for when we are transporting just the kayak and that's simple enough and easy.
But then I also bought the Harbor Freight aluminum ladder racks for when I need to pull a...
I got the letter in the mail a couple weeks ago and scheduled the update at my Ford dealer - they did the update yesterday (told me it would be 4-5 hours... not sure if that was actual shop time or just based on their backlog of work that day). Also had them do "the works" oil change and tire...
My favorite Ford truck memory with my dad was in his red 8th gen F150 (maybe a 1991?). Inline six, manual transmission - 1st gear was super tricky, but that's the truck I learned to drive a stick shift on. The truck had the left-foot operated little button on the floor board to engage the...
First time pulling a trailer - my custom setup for hauling 2 Sunfish type sailboats. It’s not that heavy of a trailer, so the Ranger hardly knew it was there. A bit chilly 55°F and super windy here today in Michigan, but I figured this was my last chance for a sail this year.
Had to tighten two of the FX4 skid plate screws. Very first oil change a couple days ago, and the Ford oil change tech didn’t tighten them back up enough. ?
I could hear the skid plate rattling at certain speeds and over bumps.
A couple weeks ago, we rented 4-seater Polaris side-by-side UTV's for a sand dune and canyon trail ride while on vacation in Utah. Wife and boys loved it - so we asked our tour guide the price for one: $45k!!!!
Almost exactly what I paid for my 23 Lariat FX4 earlier this summer.
Mind. Blown.
Not my Ranger… but I saw this nice one parked up at Buck Canyon Overlook in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. I’m driving a pretty nice rental Ford Expedition on vacation.
Old thread, I know... but this was more of a PITA than I expected and (for me, at least) didn't just pop off easily. I used a trim tool - and the bottom clips were easy enough. But I really had to yank pretty dang hard on the whole assembly to get the top clips to disengage. Broke at least 1...
Road construction has me driving 1/2 mile each day thru sand, mud, etc. each way to get in and out of my driveway, so this seems like a lost cause… my mud flaps and running boards were caked in mud.
So I washed and cleaned up the Ranger today. Might have used a couple different 303 products...
