  1. Switching from 18" to 17" wheels

17" wheels will give a bit more room for tire cush over bumps. Frankly I wish my Ranger came w/ 15" Wheels, instead of 17's
  2. Ford sold me out, switching to Toyota

Very Stupid, Ford. Probably lost a customer for life, along with anyone you talk with. Stupid greed costs way more than great customer service.
  3. Basic recovery gear/skills

I winched my old Nissan 4x4 with a 2 ton comelong. It was serious exercise.
  4. Windy day towing

A sway control device would make you so very comfy! If the truck looks squatted with the trailer, consider also a weight distributing hitch. You can drive thru a hurricane with a smile. Ok, maybe not.
  5. Truck Arrived At Dealership... Damaged

I think they'd be wise to comp the repair and pay you for got getting a factory spec truck.
  6. Whats the secret to depressing the rear caliper pistons?

Did you open the bleeder valve @ the caliper?
  7. A little momma dont know money

    Flowm aster FlowX-Cat Back Exhaust
  8. Will you be upgrading to a 6G? Why or why not?

No plan to swap. Love my 2020 paid for Ranger XLT. for swapping: Pros - cannot imagine any Cons - It is not my current truck' - Costs more money
  9. Performance , 91 octane in 2022 ranger vs 87

Mostly a combination of ignorance and curiosity. The truck ran rough, I got a warning that the catalytic converter was malfunctioning. A couple of tanks of 87 octane gas + catalytic converter cleaner in the tank fixed that thank goodness. One could probably get a tune for 100 Octane gas...
  10. Ford Dealers Could Get Penalized For Selling To Flippers

Buying hot vehicles at sticker price then selling the vehicles to people who can't get to the dealer fast enough is just another of many ways for rich folks with ready piles of cash buyup things then resell at fat profits, to folks who are not rich. Probably a little easier than buying up homes...
  11. Another lowered Ranger!

The truck looks ready for a race track :)
  12. High Mileage Ranger Report

Here's to hoping I will be in the same boat as you in 55K miles:) 40K miles so far, not bone stock, but zero problems and super happy with my Ranger, trailing climbing, trailer pulling, stop and go city traffic, and highway miles. 19.5 MPG (3.5" lift / level, 10 ply rated 295/70-17 tires)
  13. 22in wheels with 285/45/22

Big wheels look good! Not much cushion between your wheels and rocks, fine for smoother surfaces. Could probably fit 295's for more serious off roading.
  14. Untold stories

ValvoMax Oil Drain Kit, Works very well. Super easy oil changes. So easy I forgot to remove it and cap it last time I changed my oil. Ran 5 quarts of new oil right thru the motor onto the driveway. I saw the pool and realized my lapse before starting the truck. Hi price oil flush! Der
  15. Full Commitment to Ranger Build

45K miles in my Fx4 XLT, overlanding, highway, local, trailer pulling. Well modded and super pleased with my Ranger. This truck is a civilized beast. I cannot imagine any other maker with equal or better performance or durability.
  16. Why order an FX4 package after reading this forum?

I am planning lots of overlanding when I get too old to work, so I got the Fx4Package ($1300 these days from Ford) for the skid and bash plates (heavier ones from ARB $700+), locking rear diff (a $420 Ford option w/o Fx4, $700+ from Yukon), front tow hooks ($100 Aftermarket), trail control (lo...
  17. Ford CEO Jim Farley’s frustration builds as he vows to transform the automaker

Wow, $63K is amazing if they make that. GM CEO makes about $30,000,000 per year, about 476 times what the $63k/year worker makes. Ford CEO makes about $22,000,000 / year, 350 times what the $63k / yr worker. Stellantis CEO $25,000,000 / year, 396 times that of the $63k worker. The ever...
  18. Ford CEO Jim Farley’s frustration builds as he vows to transform the automaker

point well taken. Time was a person could work fulltime @ Ford, afford a house and a boat. Put the kids thru college. Not sure if it is that way of late.
  19. Is it me or does the base Ranger seem "too tall"

I must admit I got a 3.5" Lift / Level kit from BDS installed. I love the tall truck. I love my 295/70 R17" Toyo Open Country R/T's. I like to climb over stuff on the trail. I think the stock hi butt allows for one to load the rear with stuff and then it would settle to level instead of nose hi.
  20. this should look like something we have seen before

I heard on a vid somewhere that aftermarket tunes get some of their HP boost from basing the mods on higher octane fuel and that the stock motor is tuned to do ok on cheap 87 octane fuel. That said, I run the weak 91 octane fuel we can get in AZ. I am quite happy with the motor, it really...
