In case anyone is following the whistling, I covered just the front water drain with some felt tape and road tested it quieted the noise to almost nothing.
Thank you, good to know that's what their for! Luckily there's never rain in my area but 3x a year.
I am going to experiment with just blocking the front one with tape later and see if the whistling goes away if so I'll run it with 1 of the 4 openings blocked, the whistling is annoying!
^Update
I was able to fix the heavy whistling noise.
The intake head has some weird cuts in it that go way higher than necessary where the band clamp attaches it to the downtube on the outside of the truck.
To fix the noise just insulate those holes and the noise is gone. I used some black...
That's what I was going for something that doesn't look modern. I love the look of 90's style off-road rigs. It helps the design of the 5G is already pushing 12yrs old.
In California i've had a few of mine stolen sadly, On ebay they go for $50 so I kinda see why (Low hanging fruit) Maybe they are used on other Ford Models.
I remember when I took delivery of my truck I got so much crap for keeping the stock steelies, I had to keep explaining the look and how I was planning on some 32.5"s or 33"s (high and tight pizza cutters lol). Everyone at the dealer was trying to sell me some of those deep dish specials that...

I did the install over the weekend, overall I'm pleased! Considering the price and being an imported kit the fit and finish is good, quality of the parts is good too.
The difficulty of the install isn't too hard if you are mechanically inclined (Don't be scared go for it!). Just a heads up if...
How many people have over 100k on one of these trucks with a gas 2.3L & 10speed probably not many. The problems down the road are unknown. In the past other brands I’ve worked on with DI have tons of issues, not trolling but I’ve never become a fanboy of any product just because I drive it or...
Do it yourself with a clear mind and plenty of time/proper tools. I’ve been in the auto industry my entire life with how poorly techs are treated/paid it’s sadly a gamble leaving your truck in someone else hands.
