  1. Wax/Paint Protection

Well, if you consider sand paper and clay bar to have the same hardness, surface texture and abrasion, nothing anybody can say or do is going to change your mind. I used a handfull of sand and a huge loogie just this morning when cooking eggs so they wouldn't stick to the pan. Same thing as...
  2. Wax/Paint Protection

Your opinion on this is something that I would heavily disagree with. The coefficient of friction between the clay and paint with a sufficient lubricant layer is equivalent to what you will have when washing the vehicle. Now, that is not to say there is zero friction. But what you are...
  3. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

Great story, Phil! Those bears...... Hidden Lake trail had the second half closed due to a grizzly bear catching and eviscerating a goat on the path. All we dealt with first hand was a mother goat wanting to punt people off the path on the upper Grenel lake and glacier trail. Approximately 5...
  4. What car/truck are you replacing with the new Ranger?

2008 Audi A6 quatro. Not exactly the "standard" transition, here we are, loving the truck!
  5. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

All we parked next to was Going To The Sun road in Glacier National Park, Montana. It was difficult to get pics parked next to the near vertical drop-offs or canyon walls, so the second pic will have to suffice from the Red Bus tour.
  6. New Members Introduce Yourself!

There doesn't seem to be many SCAB's on here, let alone FX4 without sport trim... But here we are! https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/scab-build-seattle-wa.4388/
  7. SCAB build, Seattle WA

Reserving this space for future pics.
  8. SCAB build, Seattle WA

Hi all, this is the build thread for Kathleen's Ranger SCAB. We're sort of making this account together as we build her truck up. I'm Ryan, the bf and come from a background of high WHP imports and most recently building big block pre-'60's hot rods and a lifetime of boutique detailing from...
  9. Start Stop Feature on the 2.3L Ecoboost

Option 1 worked for my Ranger :)
  10. Has anyone done a complete 2019 Ranger oil/filter change by themselves yet?

I didn't see any pictures posted here of the actual installed filter. It took me a few minutes to find it so here is a picture of me pointing to behind my driver's side front wheel.
  11. Start Stop Feature on the 2.3L Ecoboost

I followed the instructions for Option 1 and it worked like a charm! The only thing is that I cannot activate the Auto Start/Stop once it is set to all zeros (from 0100 to 0000); ASS is disabled until I go back into ForScan. I don't miss it and I don't plan on re-enabling it!
  12. Rustproofing?

If you're going to that amount of prep work, then you should use a proper professional grade rust preventor like Por 15 that's been around for decades and improved upon generationally. https://www.por15.com/
  13. Rustproofing?

I would suggest a proper high-build underbody sealer such as Wurth if you're looking at doing your own underbody care. It's very inexpensive for how much product you get. Have used this on many of my cars for years with great results (including Mazda's which are notorious for rusted wheel...
