  1. Terrain management upgrade?

    The FORSCAN site has a list of cables they have tested and know to be working. Your vLinker adapter is on the list. There are two versions, the USB (vLinker FS) and the BlueTooth (vLinker FD). The Bluetooth model only works with FORSCAN Lite, which is the Phone App (iOS or Android), which is...
  2. The Ranger Flip Off

    Girls don't do this. It's like when they encounter another female wearing the same clothes. They give a little side-eye and hope nobody notices...
  3. Ranger Down - Possible Torque Convertor ...

    Did they explain why it was trying to move when it wasn't even in gear?
  4. New here....a couple questions

    Welcome to the club! Great truck. I think there is a setting you can make in FORSCAN that makes the gear indicator always active. But I have not done it to confirm My laptop is a POS, so I rarely drag it out to do stuff like that. Windows 10 always takes over the computer for ten or twenty...
  5. CanShift Paddle Shifters

    I'm a little fuzzy on the details as yet, especially about the Ford nomenclature, but TC is Traction Control (properly referred to as Terrain Modes in the Ford nomenclature). I don't have these features on my truck (yet), so my knowledge is strictly academic at this point. Basically, if you...
  6. Auto Stop/Start removal from the factory for 2022

    I agree with this. But what makes it really annoying is not so much the feature itself. It's the programming of it to magically turn itself back on after you (ostensibly the OWNER of the vehicle) turn it OFF. Arrogant and annoying in the extreme.
  7. CanShift Paddle Shifters

    +1 on this. I feel the same. Automatic transmissions all have the following limitation: None of them know what you are ABOUT to do...
  8. CanShift Paddle Shifters

    This is off-topic for this thread, but this is giving me ideas for possibly solving the Trail Control / Traction Modes without swapping out the XL dash cluster. It may not work, but if the TC status messages are sent over the CAN bus, maybe a small auxiliary display that can read CAN bus...
  9. Ranger Down - Possible Torque Convertor ...

    I guess I'm probably a minority opinion here, but I guess I don't see how a damaged / locked torque converter could causes the vehicle to move if the trans is in Neutral or Park. Not saying the torque converter ISN'T damaged, but seems like you'd have to have more going on to make the output...
  10. Mechanics of the 2.3

    I've noticed one more possible factor. This is still not completely confirmed, and I don't know exactly WHY this might be happening, but I think it has something to do with the drive-by-wire throttle or the programming associated with it. This truck likes smooth and progressive throttle...
  11. 12v sockets -> USB ports

    Thanks a lot! --- Installation video --->
  12. 12v sockets -> USB ports

    That panel looks slick. Got a link to buy it? Or did you cut it out and add the switches yourself?
  13. Seen at a local Ford dealer yesterday

    Almost the same here. No garage is the deal-killer. I'm not sure my skills would be up to the challenge, but it would be super fun to try. They are not THAT expensive. Less $$ than a Ranger...
  14. Gear indicator.. new?

    I haven't done it yet, but I think there's a setting in Forscan to enable it all the time
  15. Seen at a local Ford dealer yesterday

    Factory Five has a frame + body kit that uses Mustang parts for engine and brakes, etc.
  16. WTF did I just watch?

    I almost vomited from the dodgy camera work. Literally had to close my eyes. Sheesh. This seems like a really bad idea to me... Just to "hear" a woosh sound. Impress the ricer boiz? Pass. Thanks, tho. Ack....
  17. Terrain management upgrade?

    Older Anti-Skid Braking systems could selectively DUMP pressure to unlock a skidding wheel, but could not GENERATE brake pressure to APPLY a brake selectively. Modern ABS is capable of pressure generation and applying brakes to individual wheels, as well as sensing individual wheel speed. The...
  18. Anyone else have one of these?

    Around here, the Auto Parts places all accept used oil. The County also has a Waste Oil disposal facility at the trash transfer station. They don't pay ya for the valuable waste product, but at least they don't charge you for disposal, either. Gotta make sure to keep an old oil container to...
  19. Locked out again this morning

    Wanted the KIM-1 when I first saw one at college, but couldn't afford it. I eventually got a Timex-Sinclair ZX-81, (with 16k RAM pack) and the first computer with a real keyboard was an Atari 800 (Now with 48k RAM!). I typed in a BUNCH of programs out of magazines.
  20. Locked out again this morning

    Strange. I have a set for my truck. What happened to you guys?
