No abuse that I am aware of. Just crawled under to change my (engine) oil and saw the (shock) oil dump out of the shock. Didn't even know that it had happened. I do take the truck off road. Nothing extreme, but nothing a 2wd could do. I also tow heavy with it which is probably the most...
That is a really good deal. I was just getting around to doing a transmission fluid and filter change along with adding a PPE pan and the Fitz magic @Fitzmotor transmission dipstick. I guess now is the time. Going to do the diff's and transfer case fluids as well. Thanks for passing that...
Love mine too. I used the 1" block in the back and have the 33's. Looks, rides, handles, off-roads, so much better.
I just had one of my front Eibach shocks blow out. Contacted Eibach and they sent me a new one under the Million mile warranty. Pain to change but awesome service.
Tough to tell from your photo for sure, but it looks like the front of your trailer is a little higher than the rear. A little more drop in your hitch might make it level or slightly lower in the front, which will help as well.
So the first tire that I put on my Ranger after raising it up was also the 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I loved them for their looks, traction, stability, quietness etc. However, they were pretty much worn out at 30k miles. (there are other similar wear comments on the forum about these...
It will take it about a minute to raise my Ranger tire (33's) about 10 psi. And about 3 minutes to fill a completely flat car tire up to 40psi. Topping off a trailer tire that has sat all winter takes a few seconds. That's all on battery power. Yes, it has a cord to run on 12vdc cigarette...
I don't know if the 2022 oem shocks are any better than the oems from 2019, if they are the same, your question won't be "should I have?"; your question will be "why didn't I do that sooner?"
I was going to go Bilstein 5100 for leveling, but got the Eibach's instead when Bilstein's couldn't be...
I think replacing the oem shocks on the Ranger is a great idea regardless of what you are doing with it. As for the springs, I think the oem springs are great under load. Its empty that different springs become desirable. That's not something I would spend money on, certainly not for towing...
Same. I right get around 19 city or highway. In fact, if I push it too fast on the highway it gets worse than that. Where as my full size Ram with the 5.7 Hemi would get 17 in town and 20 on the highway (at almost any speed). I thought I would get better with half the displacement and half...
I'll give a shout out to Discount Tire, as well, at their Goodyear AZ location. I bought some Nitto Ridge Grapplers that I loved from Discount. However, they were pretty much worn out at 30k miles. I went back to Discount about the rapid wear and was informed the Nittos had no mileage...
How awesome for you that you have the skills (and equipment) to do it yourself! Congrats on the build. We look forward to pics of the finished product.
