It doesn't look like the forks have taken the weight fully off it yet. I'd guess if you did, those springs would just crumble - or the roof of the car would just collapse - probably the latter. That is a LOT of weight.
I can just see the forklift guy saying "are you REALLY sure?"
If...
After getting a taste of this in 2020 when we had to evacuate our house due to fires, I can relate to what so many people LA are going thru. It is difficult to leave your house not knowing if you will be able to return to it. Wildfires ARE terrifying and it is terrifying how quickly they can...
The way I'm looking at it is this - mine is paid off - IF I get a trans failure, I will take it to a local transmission shop (not the dealer) to get it fixed. It probably won't be cheap, but it will be cheaper than buying a new truck. Thus far, I've had zero issues with the truck in almost 6...
I'm really glad to hear demand is still high for your product. You deserve to be successful with this - you did such an awesome job on it and I'm thankful I have it.
Question - has anyone tried to fit it to a 6G? I'm not sure how different the trans is on those - just curious.
The design goal (as I understand it) was to make it basically look like a mini F-150 - if that is indeed true, it appears they satisfied that goal. I am warming to it a bit, but I still like the looks of the 5G better. I would imagine the 5Gs have better visibility as well since the hood isn't...
Those Hankooks are terrible in the snow - you will definitely appreciate better tires in the snow. New shocks in the rear also will give you a much better ride.
Welcome to the club!
The PHEV interests me, but then I start thinking about how much it is going to cost......
A powerboost option also interests me, but again, I start thinking about how much it will cost....
A crew cab long bed option also interests me, but how much will it cost (not to mention, it is probably...
If I'm being honest, the trans is the ONLY thing on this truck that I'm worried about. Mine shifts fine, but I'm trying to make sure it stays that way since I plan on keeping it long term. I have the Fitzstick, so I'm covered there.
I had kind of planned on looking at the plugin hybrid...
Thanks - I will keep thinking about the PPE pan (don't need the extra capacity for sure) - maybe in the next 10k miles or so I'll do another fluid swap and add the pan. I do have the pump now, so removing the pan next time won't be nearly so messy. Once I install a new pan I won't have to...
I know there is an extended pan, but the "regular" pan holds more fluid than the stock one?
I've been contemplating installing one of the aluminum pans with a drain plug - there is some conjecture that some of the CDF issues have to do with weakness in the whole transmission housing due to...
In my prior life I used to work for Kroger - I found out they are one of the largest (or used to be) private label food producers. They make all sorts of stuff and brand it for whoever wants to pay for it.
Mine (a 2019) has done this from day 1 - 1 or 2 hard shifts if it is cold - if I warm it up it behaves better. Someone said running it from drive to neutral to reverse and back before you start out helps as well. They do not like it when the fluid is cold for sure.
I took a look at one of my Motorcraft ULV bottles and it doesn't say who manufactures it, just that it is distributed by Ford. Since it seems to be a pretty specialty product it wouldn't surprise me if it is made by one company.
Mike said he is on vacation until after the first of the year so he changed the stock to zero until he gets back. He said he has units available - try the website after Jan 1st. You won't be disappointed....
