Jrel209,
another way to do it is you can usually borrow tools from auto zone on a free rental basis and just grab a strut spring compressor from them which might help a lot if you are doing it alone.
LCA install is nice because a lot less stuff is unbolted. Install is okay, but you will need a ratchet strap to help keep the LCA in alignment when you go to jack it back up into it's proper location. I used two jacks, one on each end of LCA and moved them up kind of evenly. Ratchet strap...
Looks real nice, glad it all worked out for you. My wife laughed when she read your post as I am 6'2" and 250. I couldn't even get my shoulders under the dash so my wife pulled the two wires down looked at me and laughed and said "Good Luck Big Guy" Momma is 5' 4" and tiny.
After I did mine the back outside cab light stayed on for about 15 minutes. Shut all the doors and lock the truck. Wait about 15 minutes go out and see if the light is out. The blue light is a good sign that the brake controller is wired right. You could have also hit the cab light button to on...
It is fairly easy biggest complaint was the band clamps they supplied were a little bit of a pain in the ass to get on the pipes. My dealer stated no issues with the exhaust and no issues with the leveling kit either as they have installed both at their dealership.
Exactly with what we pay for the trucks the exhaust shouldn't look like it came out of a salvage yard. A nicely angled exhaust with a chrome tip would have even sufficed.
First of all, forums are used to provide/get information and also to exchange ideas. I posted because I wanted to know if anyone tried the MBRP Duals on the truck to get feedback before buying them. Comments like yours in this thread did not help anyone and provided no useful information...
No you are kind of correct. From certain angles the pipes apper to be dipping down especially up close looking down. From a little bit of a distance you see that the pipes are level and the actual truck bed angles up. It is an optical illusion!
Actually pipes look level from behind and from the sides. You can also slide those tips in or out by quite a lot. Now when you start it you get a nice low tone and know it is running:clap:
The bar that the latch catches. Loosen that bar it is two torx heads, move that bar towards you about a 1/4 of an inch slightly retighten it and shut the tailgate. If gate is flush then open gate and fully tighten bar.
My truck look exactly like that. It is simply the top bar is in towards the truck cab too far not allowing the second part of the latch too catch. Move the metal bar mounted on the truck to you about a 1/4 in and gate will close flush
