Definitely alignment. And don't go completely off their instructions. Definitely loosen the axle nut (4x4). Without doing so (their instructions), it's almost certain you will slip a cv joint. I did, and it was a nightmare.
Oh and I forgot. Changed the oil over the weekend too. Castrol edge full synthetic for turbos and an extended filter. All in all, not too bad a job. I like being able to get under it without jackstands ha. That's a different story on my lowered mustang ha. I can see why so many of you have...
Purchased a tonneau cover and a fire extinguisher mount from Mr. Bezos this morning. Looks like shipping is 7-10 days out, even for prime. Amazing how 10 years ago that would be okay. Now, if something isn't here in 2 days I start to go nuts ha.
My dad always called it testicular fortitude ha, but I get what you're saying. Not for the faint of heart, that's for sure. Best of luck and get pictures!
Received the rest of my summit order (shipped from manu.). I'll admit it's probably more for looks (in my case), but definitely usable if need be. Painted blue to match the front tow hooks and bed tie downs. If I do need to use it, a simple scuff and re-shoot would be in order.
My mustang oil smells like fuel to me, too. I've sent samples in religiously with it. No fuel issues whatsoever. It might just be the smell that is concerning (I know I was concerned). I haven't changed the ranger oil yet and had it analyzed, but I'm about to. (1900 miles). I recommend an...
Got my homemade exhaust fabbed, painted, and installed. Loving the sound. It's a lot mellower than I imagined it would be. Little growl on cold startup, no drone at all, deep sound I was looking for. I like it so much, I'm considering swapping them in the mustang in place of my mbrp's...
Ordered some parts from Summit. Gonna give it a go at my own exhaust. On my mustang, I did a catback for better flow (and sound). On the ranger, flow seems decent and I don't have much concern for power, so I'm going the cheap route. Picked up a flowmaster 10 knockoff, a section of tube, and...
Oh I can agree. I'm one that believes Jeep isn't quite what it used to be. I wanted another one (new one) to accompany my '68, but now I don't think I do. The quality just isn't there for the price now. With that being said, I do wish the bronco was just a touch cheaper. I think if they...
That makes sense. I hear ya on the salt. My mustang goes in the garage for the winter, and I usually drive my old beater dodge neon. Now the ranger will handle the most of the winter duties. It would have been the neon for another winter, but I couldn't pass up that 0%. Now the neon will...
I used the polish on my mustang with a buffer to remove some swirls. Works decent. I've used the spray also, and the detailer. I have mixed emotions. I know its not a "true ceramic", I don't want one right now. It does bead water though very well, at least for a while. My problem with it...
I saw that, it looks good! I like it. I just don't know if I can pull the trigger on that just yet ha. I have a hard time taking sandpaper to my brand new truck (although I did do a bedliner in the back, I know). I'd have to go a little higher too. My chips are in that lower segment of the...
I'd like to know too. No dings, but I have a couple chips from my general grabbers throwing stones. I'd like to do the bottom of the doors in something to prevent it going forward. Makes me sick when I hear a rock hit my door.
You could be right, I guess we'll know next year. My point I was trying to make I guess is that jeep guys are loyal to the brand (especially the off road guys), much like ford guys are to their brand. I just don't see a ton of crossing over from one brand to the other, but I could be way off...
