Thanks for the reply. What is the Wildtrak sports bar material of construction?
  2. Any Bull/Grill guards Accommodate Sensors

No, I'm looking for a bull bar, haven't purchased one. I have yet to find any photo's of this set-up from the side to see how it tucks up against the bumper. It depends on what options you have on your truck. Adaptive cruise control sensors are in the bumper. But accident avoidance sensors...
  3. A Terrible Thing Happened….

Tracy, sometimes this is a blessing. Who knows why the man did what he did, but being in control of your own situation and ending things on your own terms can be the most compassionate thing a person can do. I know of several situations where folks have done this rather than die a prolonged...

  5. 5star tune - poor mpg and traction controll light issue

I chuckle inside when some young punk calls me a boomer. You know why? Because I know my pre-internet, pre-cellphone, real music, real instruments, nature loving, asphalt basketball, horse riding, Future Farmers of America, cruising, bellbottoms, muscle cars, Saturday morning cartoons...

Cutting the bed, under the plastic covers... so what's the issue? Did they not have the capability to do that, or was it too expensive?
  8. What two and a half years living on gravel roads does to a new Ranger

Overkill... sure but they'll sure be nice if you ever get t-boned.
  9. What two and a half years living on gravel roads does to a new Ranger

You can jack the truck up with them. They are designed to slide on rocks when "rock crawling" / off roading, to protect the body of the truck. That's why Shrockwork's called them "Rock Sliders". I have heard rumors that the company went belly up, but haven't seen anything official.
  10. What two and a half years living on gravel roads does to a new Ranger

Indeed. But that's for sure a severe impact location. One of the main reason I chose and installed Shrockworks Rock Sliders on our 2019 SuperCab was because I could get them with a texture finished powder coating. They've been on for 3 years and I haven't found a spot of rust on them...
  11. What two and a half years living on gravel roads does to a new Ranger

And are they OEM Ford Motor Company running boards or Aftermarket?
  12. What two and a half years living on gravel roads does to a new Ranger

Aftermarket or Dealer Installed? Doesn't look factory.
  13. Where are all the woodworkers?!?

Kind of a Mercury Era / Apollo Era scrap yard build. Nose cone turned from the trunk of a Pinyon Pine from our property.
  14. What two and a half years living on gravel roads does to a new Ranger

A set of rocksliders would have helped with this issue. So would a set of running boards... but good lord are they ugly.
  15. Fuel economy and brand of gas

Good to know. Damn redcoats... they can't be trusted. ?? ;)
  16. Fuel economy and brand of gas

The Michelins I just installed are 5 lbs lighter than the OEM LT Hankooks that came on our Ranger. I got better mileage, with the heavier tires. This leads me to believe that tread pattern and compound are what is making the difference in our case.
  17. Fuel economy and brand of gas

    E30 is 30% ethanol, right?
  18. Fuel economy and brand of gas

Actually in the manual it states " For best overall vehicle and engine performance, premium fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher is recommended " And they also recommend top tier fuel to help minimize deposits.
  19. Fuel economy and brand of gas

Other than short term financial sense, what about long term? Repairs on these trucks are expensive and just getting the work done can be a nightmare. If the truck is getting better mileage... have you considered that also means there are likely other benefits, such as burning cleaner and less...
  20. Fuel economy and brand of gas

1st 32,000 miles: 27 MPG, almost always Shell, always premium, always Top Tier. Last 3,000 miles: 24 MPG, always Shell premium, always Top Tier. The difference: new Michelin tires installed to replace the original oem Hankooks. My Theory: Tire changes on our Rangers make a huge impact on...
