So I took a gamble and ordered the X4s from Amazon "like new" for $650 with a note saying box was damaged. I figured when it arrived, if irreparable, I'd just return it. One of the slats had dislodged like that while in its packaging and I was able to get it to line back up and "re-engage" in...
Welcome! Some times you just gotta tear the bandaid (exhaust) off!
☝️do it.
Also sounds like you got a pretty good deal getting that far below MSRP right now. Congrats!
TRIED to get a few things done...
Though I feel like it could use some thin foam or rubber gasketing around the bottom edge like the factory one to keep it from rattling around.
This thing... piece of cake.
But THIS ?
Had the tow hooks out in a few minutes, new shackle conversions installed...
UCAs arrived today, suspension upgrade ready to go... just as soon as I talk to the wife about the the couple grand I want to spend on new wheels and tires ?.
And let's be honest... the 2.5-3inch lift just wouldn't look right on the factory 30ish inch tires, right? ?♂️
I know. Seriously, like THE last cart available, but its frozen in an icy snowbank. Only one way to make this Target run a success... Grab the shackles and kinetic energy rope and send her flying!
Haha, that was my first thought as I installed it, turned out my arm naturally wants to rests right down the little peninsula sticking out on my side and so far it hasn't bothered me.
The hooks are a great idea! Anytime my wife used to hop in I would set it behind the passenger seat and it...
Thanks! They're GearAmerica Uber shackles (amazon). They're massive... may even look funny on a mid sized truck. I like them because they have a reverse threaded cap that screws on to the end of the pin. If someone tries to loosen/steal the pin without the key, it should lock the pin in, or at...
May turn out to be a waste (of both a purchase and a post?♂️), but got this adapter to fit the yeti water bottle that goes everywhere with me. No more high speed projectile off the passenger seat onto the floor, and out of reach, after tapping the breaks.?
These arrived today... now I just need to get those tow hook shackle converters installed so I can go park this beast at the mall for a few hours on Sunday. ?
Received my icon leaf spring pack and rough country tow hook shackle conversions today! (forgot to take a picture of them sitting at work).
Didn't realized the leaf springs themselves don't ship in a box?? I was surpised to walk into the lobby at work and two leaf packs were just laying on the...
Ironman 4x4 was much quicker to respond this time (via email) and their response was the following:
"It is my understanding our UCAs will fit either the Cast iron/Steel or the Aluminum.
I am advised the ball joint shafts are the same."
They did state if I have any issues to reach back out for...
Thanks for the responses @Bravohook and @Frenchy. I reached back out to the company seeking clarification.
We'll see what they say. Hoping to not be out $600 on UCAs that are useless to me.
Hey everyone,
Was wondering if anyone has experience with the Ironman 4x4 Pro Forged Upper control arms for the 2019+ Ford ranger.
I know that the UCAs have been made to work with either the aluminum or cast iron spindle, but not both at the same time due to different tapered tips and angles...
Cool. Thanks for the info! I assume you had to mod, swap, or remove the crash bars for that tire to work? I'm looking to go with LT275/70R17 C rated. I'm planning on swapping out for a set of readylift bars.
@AndyMedic very nice!
What have you done with your suspension and wheels/tires? Those tires look about the exact size I'm looking to go up to once my eibach struts/rear shocks and icon multipack leafs go in.
Awesome @AndyMedic thanks! I'm wrestling with the sport 12" bed rack with the adapters or the 9" bed bars with adapters, trying to keep the tent low. Any chance you could throw up a picture for reference when you have a chance?
Thanks again for the input
