What I've noticed since installing the Eibach's in the rear, is that there's way less bouncing back there, and the truck doesn't lean as much when going around corners.
With the stock shocks, my daughter could jump on the tailgate like it were a trampoline. With the Eibachs, it's not nearly as...
The Curt Echo uses the brake signal from the brake light wiring in the 7 pin connector, so it actually works fine with AEB and ACC. I have tested it myself. Not sure about the other wireless brake controllers, though. I they plug in like the Echo does, then chances are they will work with AEB...
Maybe I'll try my 3.5mm -> USB-C with a USB-C -> USB-A adapter I have.. just to see..
Edit: nevermind.. I don't think I own anything portable that outputs 3.5mm to test it with o_O
I managed to find a bunch that work both directions. They're named things like 'bluetooth transmitter / receiver with 3.5mm'. Just make sure it's at least a bluetooth trasmitter or a transmitter/receiver combo, and not only a receiver
Looks like the product in the link gets its input through bluetooth and outputs it through 3.5mm (adding bluetooth to vehicles via the vehicle AUX port). Not sure what you would call the opposite of that (take in 3.5mm, output to bluetooth) but that's what to look for instead
Not the most interesting video in the world, but here's some dashcam footage from the way home. Gets up to speed without much effort at all. Video starts near a stop sign, and there's a 2nd one 2 mins in.
I just blew an hour trying to find something like the carbon fiber wrap but in any other pattern other than carbon fiber, and I came up with nothing. I would love a simple matte black wrap or something dark & matte with a subtle pattern. If anyone comes across such a thing, let me know!
Getting the signal is the tricky part - Ford's prewiring only gives you a brake pedal signal instead of a brake light signal.
The problem is that to get a brake light signal you need the Lumen module, which taps into the brake & turn signal wiring, and translates that into something that a...
Right on - just a heads up though in case it might be confusing to others reading: the VKB3Z-2C006A isn't a Lumen brake controller, but a standard RedArc TowPro Elite brake controller packaged with a Lumen module and harness:
In theory the Lumen module could be used with any brake controller...
From what's in the manual for the new RedArc v3, it doesn't seem like anything's actually changed in this regard. They mention AEB but the wiring diagram seems to indicate that you would still require something like the Lumen module that Ford's OEM package includes, which is used to source the...
Almost forgot - the Andersen has 2 holes for the hitch pin, allowing you to choose if you want a longer hitch setup or a shorter one. The difference between them is 3". On the Ranger, the hole used for the shorter setup can't be used because the hitch bottoms out at the end of the receiver tube...
The Andersen No-Sway WDH: Andersen Hitches
It's different from everything else. It's a lot lighter weight, less clunky, and generally easier to deal with. It doesn't need to be unhooked when backing up, and doesn't need any regular maintenance or lubing. There are no spring bars or tools to...
From what it says in there, it doesn't sound like they've done anything to add support for AEB and ACC, other than suggest that it's possible to wire it up differently to make it compatible (which is what Ford's done by packing in the Lumen module which is used as the brake light trigger page 10...
I got the Milenco MIL-4381 Falcon towing mirrors over the weekend. HUGE improvement over the set with straps that I was using previously. Much easier to install and remove, and easier to adjust once installed. Major points for how far out from the vehicle I can position them, allowing me to see...
What hitch do you use with that trailer? With my previous trailer of similar size to yours, the Andersen eliminated any movement from semis when passing or being passed. Amazing what a difference it made. And that trailer was single axle, so it was probably a little less stable than your dual...
