Just indiegogo. They're getting close to selling them from their own site I think, but production has been slow up until recently. They seem to get 2000-3000 at a time (monthly). They've had to charge the design a couple of times to work around component shortages.

USB A is sometimes not enough to actually charge a phone while its being used for other things like Android Auto / CarPlay. USB C, assuming Ford did it right, can fast charge

Honestly I've only charged my phone up there a couple of times and the vehicle was cool at the time. It was more of a project I did just because I could (I had extra parts lying around). My phone slid around while up there and the lower cubby was just more convenient so I always use that instead.

I haven't heard that rumour, but there's something to the opposite effect: If you install the TM knob, you don't actually need to do the FORScan bit to use it. The TM button works without that, but you can't tell what mode you're in!
