The trim around the shifter can be popped out easily, but the console itself is more involved. I took mine out here, although it turned out I didn't need to for the project I was working on: Wireless Charging Install | Page 10 | 2019+ Ford Ranger and Raptor Forum (5th Generation) - Ranger5G.com
2 things that we all learn too late:
The dealer never seems to setup the hitch correctly.
Even if they do setup the hitch correctly, the trailer is either unrealistically empty or fully loaded with water. The truck is also usually unrealistically empty. The dealer's setup won't be how it...
Looks like I need to make an appointment with the dealer.. check out the difference in gap betwen the SumoSpring and the leaf on each side:
Passenger:
Driver:
My driveway isn't flat and level however I parked on the street and it wasn't much better. I also noticed that the old driver side...
Another update: I've got the SumoSprings installed :)
Drilling out the bolts was not a big deal in the end. I took a torch to the bolts a couple of times but I'm not sure if it helped or not. After letting them cool I used a 1/4" cobalt drill bit all the way through and then moved to 5/16"...
Update: I've managed to get the broken extractor out of the bolt.
I ordered a few different bits to try:
A diamond-tipped holesaw bit for cutting tile/stone/glass.
A tungsten carbide bit for the Dremel.
"The Rescue Bit".
While waiting for "The Rescue Bit" to ship and before trying the other 2...
I went at it with penetration oil overnight, a torch for quite a while, my small impact, and me trying to go back and forth with the socket. I thought I was getting somewhere when I finally heard a pop while using the socket, but then the head popped off on the next heave.
I was using titanium...
I can get a socket on it and there's just enough room to move the handle a bit but it's too cramped back there to get any real leverage.
The head popped off the second bolt as well so I started drilling into it. I've been at it for hours now just trying to get a 5/32 bit deep enough for the...
What kind of extractor bit/kit did you use to drill out? There seem to be a million options and most of the stuff I've used in the past seems like it wouldn't be able to handle this. I ordered these which should be here today:
I'm going to use my small impact on the other side like you said...
I tried using my little impact but it was getting nowhere. I thought I was getting somewhere by hand.. and then this. Wish I read this thread first lol
It's a game changer! We were storing stuff in the top bunk but unable to actually see in there or access half of it until it ended up on the floor after a drive. Kiddo couldn't sit up in bed, didn't have a lot of light, and the AC couldn't reach her. This solved all of that, and the trailer...
Very cool!
This weekend I made some mods to our Jayco actually. I cut the top bunk leaving only a 1' shelf along the side and 20" shelf at the rear. Huge quality of life upgrade for us!
I have had issues with wireless charging while using Android Auto on both a Pixel 5 and Pixel 4 XL as well. Gets too hot. I plug into a USB-PD charger instead and it seems okay.
It would have meant it was waiting for the AAW device to restart and reconnect after finishing the firmware update. For anyone else who does an update - make sure to keep the power on the whole time while updating :)
I think I'm going to try the Sumos now, if I can find them in stock somewhere. The Eibach's help with the bouncing and increasing tire pressure helps the side-to-side a bit, but I think I'd like to see if the Sumos help more with that.
My WDH helps get rid of the vast majority of sway...
