I have noticed these engines seem to run rich when warming up in colder temps. Noticed some of the exhaust condensation drip on the floor was blackish with soot few days ago. I have not smelled sulfur but I also never idle the truck for more than a minute or two max.
I am a fan of them. They put out a lot of light. I use them pretty regularly as I am on some dark roads in the woods and they really light up both wide and pretty far out. That said, I do have them angled down as I use them more as fogs.
So long winded way of saying don’t modify your truck? Isn’t the point of this forum peer pressure to convince people to spend money modifying their trucks? Betting the most common mod here is suspension changes (including wheels and tires). I mean aside from the tailgate damper of course.
I installed Shrockworks back in Sep. Did manage to drop on to a rock with them on one side on a trip and they did the job they were meant to do. Didn't even scratch the paint. I did not have any issue with spacing with the body at all on my install. They work ok as a step, though pretty...
The term “spacer” is used to represent two different devices that achieve the same result but in very different ways.
You have true spacers which are a shim that is sandwiched between the hub and the wheel and are not mechanically connected.
And then you have adaptors which attach to the studs...
I have run the tow tune, the performance (91-93) tune and now soft shift performance (91-93) tune. I personally prefer the soft shift. Seems to have as much power boost as the standard performance but a smoother drive. All about personal preference!
Does a suspension lift actually solve the fit problems of larger tires? I would assume the travel in the suspension would be the same. At full compression if you were rubbing pre-lift seems you would be after the lift as well.
Now I guess I could see how a spacer lift could allow bigger tires...
It must happen fairly often given how full some of these are.
I have to believe it has happened given how full some of these cans are in these photos. They look to be caught just in time so I would expect some people might be just a hit too late.
