  1. Merry Christmas to 5g members and families!

I had a Ford Expire back in the 70's.
  2. New Ranger Purchase

Another one I just noticed. On the itemized purchase order for my new Explorer, there was an item labelled "Accesories," and a $500 charge. So I called our sales person, whom we had bought the last two new vehicles from and asked about it, because I didn't recall ordering any accessory. After a...

The Sandman is real. I eventually fall asleep every night
  4. A Christmas CARol.

I posted this last year here, I think, I thought i'd put it up again. If you don't understand some of the references, ask a Boomer:
  5. How Are You Planning to Spend Your Christmas This Year? 🎄

We are having two Christmas'. 1.0 will be at our house with our immediate family. We are having crab legs ($7.49/lb!) and steak bites for appetizers, and lasagne for the main course, plus a myriad assortment of side dishes and deserts. Fupbauw will be on with the sound muted. Monday night...
  6. Explor(er)ing A New SUV

UPDATE: Kristi drove the Explorer and liked it. There aren't any red ST-Lines with a bench 2nd row seat within reasonable distance so we ordered one, ETA March-ish. Kristi insisted on Rapid Red, not avail. on the entry level Active, The ST-Line has some of the ST bling, like 21s, and...
  7. Key fob wearing out?

I'll defer to @airline tech or @ControlNode, but even if the fob battery is showing good, try replacing it with the other fob's battery and see if that helps. If it doesn't, then something in the fob is faulty. You say your other fob works fine so it isn't a problem with the truck.
  8. Explor(er)ing A New SUV

I thought i could put off this decision for a few more years, but the time is nigh to put our 2009 Mercury Mariner out to pasture, or used car lot to be more accurate. The CD2 Platform (gens 1 & 2 Escape/Mariner) was orders of magnitude better CUVs than the Bronco II they replaced, and ours has...

Big difference between waving his rifle and aiming his rifle!
  10. Darwin Award Thread

10-4. Maybe this is a "Lessee how many clicks we get" stunt
  11. Darwin Award Thread

This is a perfect example of Sir Isaac Newton's Third Law of Motion. The explosive in the round exerts the same force in all directions when detonated by the blasting cap. Energy travels in the path of least resistance, so the bullet having smaller mass than the chamber, exits out the open end...
  12. Cordless Vacuums...Are There Any Good Ones?

SweepScrub sells a variety of cordless vacs. Commercial grade, but a skimming over the site, some have the lightness and stamina your'e looking for. Electron storage ain't cheap. I have a DeWalt 20v battery leaf blower, that came on sale with a 4h battery and a wall mount charger. I could...

  14. output speed sensor replacement on a 2011 2.3L automatic

I'm 75 and I can't do squats anymore; I do a comical routine getting down on all fours- knees are shot. They call them "prayer bones" because you pray that you can stand up again. Regardless of how generations of Rangers are determined, this forum is dedicated to the North American 2019-2023...
  15. output speed sensor replacement on a 2011 2.3L automatic

This forum is for the fifth generation 2019-2023 Rangers. You may want to try Ranger Forum for more answers. They cover 1998-2011 models.

  17. Ok...riddle me this lol

Remember driving down the road and seeing a quarter mile ribbon of 8-track tape along the shoulder? My, how litter has changed.
  18. Help!! Rear differential is locked!!

If you had a flat with the 18" stock or aftermarket larger tires, you would probably have put on the spare tire. On Rangers with stock 18s, the spare is a 70- profile 17 inch, which is slightly less diameter. So I think Ford's logic is if the spare is mounted on the rear locking axle, it may...
  19. Help!! Rear differential is locked!!

10-4 the old self locking front hubs required that. As I recall, you could shift into 4H on the fly, but had to stop and back up ~10 ft to unlock the hubs before returning to 2H.
