  1. Issues with Easy-Fuel filler in California

They prevent maybe half of the raw hydrocarbons from entering the atmosphere while you spend 6 minutes fueling up. Without them the atmosphere would thicken up like the planet Venus.
  2. How about some Jokes [Admin: No Politics, Religion, Nudity, Explicit Posts]

What's the baud rate?? Important question in the early 90s. Our first desktop computer was a Bell & Howell wit a giant 3.2 gigabyte memory and 300-something Mb processor. It had only one floppy disc slot and a separate phone modem. This was when my wife was just getting her home business going...
  3. Issues with Easy-Fuel filler in California

The nozzle gaiters that some states have can be a nuisance. I've not had to fuel the Ranger with such a nozzle, but on my Mariner, I had to push upwards while inserting the nozzle to get it to stop shutting off prematurely, and run it on the slow notch.
  4. "change oil soon" notification

I have a 3-ring binders for both vehicles and my MC with every receipt for repair and maintenance. I have used Quicklane almost exclusively on the Ranger and since 2015 on the 2009 Marine.r I service the Mariner every 3000mi as it is driven short trips, and the Ranger every 6000 mi. For me it...
  5. "change oil soon" notification

You raise an interesting question, Airline. As I mentioned in my previous post, the 2009 Mariner's OLM usually triggers a msg. at ~25-2800mi. I've always assumed it was because the oil was getting contaminated at a faster rate (short, low rpm trips) than than the '21 Ranger, which is typically...
  6. "change oil soon" notification

The Oil Life Monitors do a pretty good job. My wife drives our Mariner mostly on short trips of 3-5 miles or so, and the OLM will trigger the service message at around 2500 miles or so, and show under 10%. This car gets Quicklane service at 3000 miles. I've never seen lower than 5% so maybe that...
  7. Brake Pedal Travel

I understand that it can be remedied; didn't know about the Forscan part. I was just saying that whoever signed off on the 5G Ranger design wanted mushy brakes as delivered.
  8. Brake Pedal Travel

TADT: They All Do That. The truck was designed in Australia and apparently the correct spec is brake feel that acts like the master cylinder needs a rebuild. ?‍♂️
  9. How often do you use 4L?

Ivery rarely use 4L. I did use it last year in a few stretches when we went through the Grand Staircase National Monument, in conjunction with the Trail Control. I set it for 3-5mph and let it take over while I picked my way through rock outcroppings. There is a USFS road that joins the...

  12. Dakota Rides Again?

Stellantis is in chaos right now. They have one mothballed plant (Belvedere, IL.) and others are underutilized. The UAW is holding Stellantis' corporate feet to the fire over not starting new products and reopening Belvedere. Programs are canceled on Monday and revived on Friday, and cancelled...
  13. Dakota Rides Again?

https://fordauthority.com/2025/01/stellantis-puts-ford-ranger-rival-back-on-the-menu/ Could be a tough sell, it's a crowded segment. Tacoma has had the momentum for years and Ranger has proven that when you discontinue the #1 selling midsize truck for 7 model years, it is a steep uphill climb...

  16. Does The Picture On Your Ford Pass Screen Look Better Thank Your Truck?

I just thought of something. Under the truck graphic, there is a bar that says, "Vehicle Parked." No kidding, Karen. I've never seen any other message: Vehicle Stolen / Vehicle Needs Wash / Vehicle Envious of Neighbor's ZR2 Bison...

  18. Why do you back in when parking?

You can also use the curb, tire barrier, rear line or wall to get your angle right. The one that gets me is the car wash. I can't seem to get centered after pulling over to punch in my code at the kiosk.
