Well I did, several times but only during the day. I had watched some night drive videos on YouTube so I had a good sense of what it looked like but the small things that have been dropped since the 2019 model I only learned about on ranger5g.com - so I blame the forum ! :)
My conversation would be like this: why isn't there an indicator that displays the gear I currently have selected to match the lovely illumination? Oh, you would rather remove the illumination rather than add in an indicator? Why did you illuminate it in the first place then? ah gotcha, it was a...
well as long as the dash controls (hvac, radio controls) are still illuminated but still, removing the PRNDS light... I'd love to have a conversation with the person that made that decision.
Those were good question @Scooter asked. My understanding about diesel though is it still emits quite a bit of soot so less green house gases but more emissions that affect general air quality (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I emailed Ford Canada customer service but it didn't help, the response was there's no recall issued by Ford for the holes now left open.
I was thinking what @Motorpsychology said - that Ford has determined it's better to keep them opened for drainage and drying. Also, when you look at the...
I'm gonna start drinking more beer so I'll be ok when I receive my Ranger :)
All kidding aside, glad you posted this so we're aware (from day 1 in my case)
Gosh I hope not! I know for myself, my home province generates 99.8% of its electricity from renewable sources, with 95.2% coming from hydro power (dams).
I tried - I emailed Ford Canada customer service with questions and feedback. I finally got a response that said there's no recall for that particular issue. So hard to get in contact with someone knowledgeable that can speak to enthusiast's like us and provide clear info
Well here in Canada (specifically in the province of Quebec where I live) we have mostly hydro powered electricity and it's very inexpensive here compared to most other places, which got me thinking and I started this thread... :)
I have a 2021 supercab on order...what a drag the newer trucks don't have the mechanism, I would have done the dowel mod to make it work.
This is yet another change that's been silently made by Ford that really seems to be a cost cutting measure (same as omitting 2 tie downs, the wiper defrost...
Want to share predictions? Or maybe someone has some insider info, hehe ;)
From what I've read/seen, Ford has had pretty good, reliable tech in their hybrid cars (please correct me if I'm wrong). I'm anxious to see how the F-150 Lightning does.
Cheers
Steven
I would push back hard on the dealer - I have never damaged a defrost line on any vehicle I have owned and I'm guessing you haven't either. It must be very rare that happens and more often a manufacturing defect. Maybe try another dealer if you can?
