This right here is basically the best suspension setup for the question the OP posed. New coilovers, shocks, and leaf springs. Does OP want to spend this much? That's another question.
For what OP has described, I'd at least go with the FOX 2.0 setup with new UCAs. You do not want more than 3"...
On jeeps (JLs to be specific) with the same M220 rear, a lot go 4.56/4.88 with 33s-35s. 4.1 is an option for those guys too.
While we use the same axle, I don't think it's quite that easy to the JLs case as a facsimile.
I believe that FP offering this kit means that they have something in the pipline in regards to some gearing. Would make sense for them to offer it all together.
Clearance, good tires, and a locking rear diff will get you a lot of places.
Some of the people that talk down on the 2WD trucks have 4WD with open diffs and get stuck all the time.
So Ford Performance is coming out with an install kit... does this mean we are getting new gearing for the Ranger?
