  1. Carrier Bearing Shot

Appreciate it Phil, will do. Thank you for the info.
  2. They want my stoves

It’s laughable that these politicians (paid off by special interest groups) are pushing to go electric anything. The vast majority of electricity comes by way of burning fossil fuels. Wind turbines aren’t efficient and take up a 100s of times the space of a conventional power plants. Same with...
  3. Carrier Bearing Shot

Phil, curious if you could help me wrap my head around this driveshaft shudder. I have a 22 STX with a definite takeoff shudder in 1st. It’s not as bad as others have mentioned. I plan on changing leaf springs, coilovers, and shocks in an attempt to improve what I would consider a very stiff...
  4. Windshield recall

Mine told me that I’m on a list…but may be a number of months. They don’t want to start the replacement of the seal without a spare windshield because they have had some crack when pulling them off. If it cracks then I would be truck-less or paying another company to get the windshield done...
  5. ENGINE VIBRATION/LUGGING

Not with my transmission. Just noticed I have a bumpy ride on roads that aren’t perfect. Gonna be upgrading leaf springs, shocks, and coilovers so hope that helps some.
  6. ENGINE VIBRATION/LUGGING

You still having these issues with the truck?
  7. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

With me driving over 400-450 miles a week im guessing I would be out of warranty anyways if something were to happen. That’s why I didn’t get the extended warranty because I would hit the miles way before the timeframe on the warranty. I figured there is a reason they still sell the warranty...
  8. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

Yeah a less aggressive 87 tune would be perfect. I’ve got a few suspension upgrades to get done and then after that I’ll speak with you guys if I’m still not happy with the shifting. FYI I’m pretty inept when it comes to stuff like this so if I did get it expect to have to baby me through the...
  9. One Piece Driveshaft

Thanks for the info. Sound like you must have had a really bad shudder then. Mine is at 10 mph and pretty minor but if it gets worse I’m immediately going to a one piece. I don’t have the energy to mess with either taking it to the dealership and shimming. I’d rather pay the money and be done.
  10. One Piece Driveshaft

When you measured for your one piece shaft, how accurate do you need to be? I’m going to be adding some rear leaf springs and some shocks/coilovers to my truck and if my very minor takeoff shudder get worse then I’m going to just bite the bullet and order a shaft rather than mess around trying...
  11. Global multi leaf rear spring, anybody know spring design?

Nice, I wasn’t sure if I was gonna get their pro kit or the other one with the adjustable front coilovers. I think one was 700 and the other closer to 1000. I’m thinking this combined with the rear leafs will be a great setup.
  12. Global multi leaf rear spring, anybody know spring design?

Just ordered the leaf springs and already have the bump stops here. Now I gotta order the u bolts and I’ll be set. Once I have all these I plan on getting the Eibach shocks and coil-overs so I can raise the front just a hair so I keep my same rake or possible a bit more level. Worried about too...
  13. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

Do you guys have a tune for using 87 and all around driving? Not necessarily tow or performance specific. Never have considered a tune until now. Don’t know much about them.
  14. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

How hard is it to install that tune? Is it pricey?
  15. Truck "bucks" at slow, steady speeds

Been messing around with sport and tow mode. They definitely take a bit to get used to, Sport holds rpm’s high so you have power when you need it and tow felt a bit jerky. I had some rougher shifts in tow mode but I’ve only been in tow mode for probably 2 minutes of the last month since I’ve...
  16. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

Appreciate the advice. I’ll definitely try this. Anything over 40 and the truck runs just like it should. Below 40 it’s a bit different than I’m used to so I’ll try to use sport mode more. I have a few hills on my commute to work which leave the engine lagging because I’m in a high gear so I’ll...
  17. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

Yeah I just started experimenting with that today. So far I’ve just been in D and occasionally Sport to test it out. I’ve always been a fairly conservative driver so sport seems excessive for my driving habits. Locking out gears today definitely kept rpm’s where they should be and no low rpm...
  18. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

I will say mine is very smooth as far as shifting goes other than some occasional jerkiness downshifting. Nothing major. Most of the time I can’t feel any shifts other than on hills where my gears are too high. I’ve told my transmission that 7th gear at 25 mph is way to high but it never...
  19. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

Glad they got it done for you. Now your next step needs to be 200k and beyond. I’m sure you’ll get there. Many more adventures with the truck.
  20. My perfect Ranger with an imperfect transmission...

Yeah definitely My main quirk is the gear being too high and rpm’s dropping to 1100 or so causing a rumble strip sensation until I give it gas. I do notice some jumpier downshifting when slowing down (40 and under). I did unhook the battery which reset something because my transmission really...
