I could definitely see the usefulness if you sit in a lot of stop and go traffic. The only time I stop is at quick lights or stop signs, and the delay is really annoying when you just stop for a second.
We have a Subaru Crosstrek and the Ranger, for paved snowy roads I will take the Subi over the Ranger any day, it's just much easier to drive and sticks to the road like glue. On dirt or off road with snow, the ranger is the winner.
I had a manual trans WRX prior to the Ranger, I couldn't...
Question about car washes... in those car washes with the big rollers, not touchless, do you take off your tonneau cover? I have a soft cover, wondering if it will get destroyed.
Thanks... so according to the instructions for the Ranger, there's some drilling. But I can't tell if that is drilling the truck or just drilling the rack to make holes for the J hooks?
These trucks are not liking this below zero weather at all, I think the carwash might have done just what you described. I almost took mine through the carwash the other day when it got up to 20 but was worried it would freeze something when it dropped below zero.
Was -10 here this morning and...
So from reading this thread, am I correct in saying that the DeeZee doesn't require drilling but the Backrack does?
When I go to the DeeZee site it says drilling required.
I feel like Subaru wins for worst paint. I had some sap on one and when I finally got it off with some rubbing alcohol, it took the paint down to the metal.
I think this truck feels typical ford reliable so far (having had an explorer in the past), I have under 3000 miles though. Only issue...
I know this isn't your exact question, but I purchased the cheapest soft cover I could find on amazon for like $180, and I love it. It's a trifold, has 2 clamps near the cab and two quick release clamps near the gate. Keeps the water out and items out of site and somewhat locked.
Did the backrack require drilling? I really want one but am not going to drill into my new truck. Haven't seen any that just clamp on, they all need stake pockets.
Funny, I almost bought some sand tubes at home depot this weekend but decided not to. She is squirrely in 2WD here in VT lately but I have gotten to know her limits. I am running stock tires, don't really want to bother with snows. Would like to find a more aggressive tire though, not much...
