Just returned from a loooong road trip and my buddy looks at my front tires and says, looks like you got an aligment issue. Sure enough, I'm a good deal worse wear on the inside (photo makes it look a bit worse than it is).
I put brand new Cooper ATS 4S on when I got the truck. Anyone else have...
This National Luna system I bought seems really nice. They provide great docs and you can just tell when a company puts real care into their products.
It will monitor battery and keep from draining it but the issue as I gather is that it doesn't know when it's safe to pull. What their system...
It's not a full size battery cable, it's 16mm^2 so reasonably flexible. I couldn't quite tell where the main harness was headed, I'll put it on ramp and get under it this weekend.
That's what I've always thought which is why I was so confused: Then why does the presence of a smart alternator make a difference to whether charging occurs? Assuming the smart alternator still wants to keep the battery well charged, the output voltage of the alternator shouldn't matter. Or ...
Yeh I was thinking same, use the posi lead as signal for DC system and then do 10 gauge (or 6 since it came with system). What route did you use from engine bay to back of truck?
Need to do this for my AUX battery setup. Any hints about where exactly you ran the wire? There are a lot of suspension bits and can't see a lot of places to hang it on left side. Did you follow back with another line like trailer wiring?
No question. There is this weird mentality where people see high prices and somehow it seems to increase their sense that they need that thing that everyone else wants right now.
Sorry to spam, but DRAT, realized this won't work. My DC-DC draws 25a constant and no way to set it to take less. And putting a larger fuse in even just an extra 5 amps doesn't seem prudent.
Back to the drawing (pun intended) board..
So looks like you just tapped in before the outlet. I was thinking about rigging something to use the existing pins, but your approach is simpler. Something that threw me is that the wires look like they are 14 gauge or there about. For reference, my aux battery box came with 6 gauge and my...
Thanks to both of you. I don't see the actual option in the table on thread..but I'm sure I could find it and yeah maybe I don't need to change this at all which would be awesome.
A bit off topic, but the DC-DC already detects input voltage and stops drawing below a threshold, but the issue...
I'm not. I'll check it out. Actually there are a lot of Forscan threads. This one?

This is great! Had no idea there was a power tap back there, I was getting ready to run my own line all the way from engine bay back to bed and not looking forward to it. I need up to 25a 12v for my National Luna DC-DC system but 20a works to.
I don't even need the harness, presuming I can just...
Got it. I'm racking my brain trying to think of a circuit that would be on only when the engine is actually running. (Attaching a DC-DC system and smart alternator makes that tricky. While I could live with draw on accessory power only it would really be less worry of main battery drain to just...
I think this might be what I'm looking for, I've been trying to find a positive lead to detect ignition. But when it says ignition does that literally mean the engine / alternator is running? Or just that the power button (i.e. w/ or w/o foot on brake) has been pushed? e.g. are the Aux buttons...
Hey all, I'm installing a DC-DC system and because our trucks have a smart alternator I need a positive lead that gets power on ignition (not accessory) to clue in my charging system that it is ok to pull from alternator even though voltage is lower than expected. Any ideas if there is a circuit...
I've never believed in putting anything higher than lowest possible octane level on domestic vehicle. Just went on a a loooong road trip (~ 6k total) with a Canopy Camper that destroyed our aerodynamics. Like 18mpg @ 70, 15mpg @ 80mph. And I can pretty confidently say that higher...
Just did a four week trip across the country, and was amazed at how few Rangers I saw. I swear I've seen more in my town in BC on any given day then I did in any of the places we visited, including areas like Tetons and UT. Plenty of Tacos and F-150s of course. Are they really that rare on the...
