Royal Purple has switched ownership a few times and the quality has suffered.
The formulation they use now does not let the oil flow anywhere near as well as most other synthetics which will affect the protection. Especially on start up. Hot or cold.
I don’t really trust the system either. If it can tell us what the actual viscosity and break down is then what’s the point of an oïl analysis .
My buddy goes 30,000km on his Duramax between oil changes and has it tested. Oil comes back fine with normal wear readings.. So I would say the oil...
Amsoil’s 5W30 Signature Series has 1300 ppm of Calcium and 1000 ppm of Magneseum to meet Fords Specs for the LSPI Motors.. It’s a requirement from Ford in order to be able to recommend an oil to make sure the right protection is there and warranty approved.
