The ports shut off after 2 hours normally. However with my old battery they were turning off immediately. I notice because my dash cam dings when it loses external power.
I did check and it is an AGM battery they replaced it with. Label is different than the old one. Not sure if they did the test wrong based on the print-out but it got the result I wanted so not about to question it.
I didn't have a chance to look through the Forscan settings to determine if...
they replaced the battery under warranty. Said i would have been covered even if i hadn't called, they just had to verify first. Not sure i buy that but either way it's done. Took a little over an hour. I had kept the battery on a charger for 2 days before being able to go in though so that may...
Left it on the charger for two days and took it to the dealership this morning. Initially they said the battery wasn't covered by the warrantee. I called Ford and they confirmed the battery is covered. Dealer said they needed to test to see if the battery is the issue. As i type this though they...
I've had it on the charger for at least 7 hours. It's showing signs of life again. Only a 2A charger since I never expected to be recharging a completely dead battery. Going to hope it's good enough to get me running by morning. I don't really want to spend $200+ on something that should be...
So my battery is completely dead and I need my truck this week. Can I replace the battery myself and then file a claim with Ford after the fact? Has anyone done this successfully?
I tried updating and no xml file this time. I tried the USB a second time and left it after it said complete. After about the 6th update complete and restart i pulled the drive and gave up. Hopefully it figures itself out eventually.
One thing I just realized. Both attempts I made this time the...
Honestly this is the only thread I've seen that many attacks in. Most of this forum is extremely helpful.
Would love to hear from all the angry people how an OBD2 scanner would have pinpointed your problem. Glad you got it resolved.
Has anyone sent them the ford gear shift pleather to use as a template yet? If not and if someone can tell me how to remove it I'm willing to see if they still are willing to do it and send mine in.
So many angry people in this thread. Sure glad this wasn't the first thread I saw on this forum. I probably wouldn't have come back.
OP - any scan tool you can get is better than none. Obviously the more expensive ones can tell you a lot more. Interested to hear what it ends up being.
I have the AWD highlander which unfortunately does not have any sort of flat tow mode. I checked the owners manual on it and it has to be towed with all wheels off the ground.
Thanks. Good to see it's actually capable of towing that much. I've towed plenty of uhaul trailers long distance, just never a car hauler and never that close to max weight.
This should be the only time I ever need to do this so not really looking to buy a trailer and then have to sell it...
I'll definitely hit the scales to verify I'm safe once loaded. But is there anywhere to find the highlander weight per axle without actually getting it weighed? That way I can try to estimate tongue weight to know if renting the trailer is even viable.
Thanks for all the feedback. I've found if I select one of the u-haul trucks it will let me add the trailer with the highlander on it. I also compared dimensions between the highlander and the trailer and it looks like it fits. The weight rating for the trailer is good as long as I don't max out...
I'm planning on towing a Toyota highlander on a car carrier behind my ranger. I'll be pretty close to the towing limits both in terms of what the car carrier can do and what the ranger is rated for. Uhaul won't let me reserve online, I think due to the weight of the highlander compared to the...
Is there a way to see charging / discharging in Forscan like what the video shows? Actually see Amps in/out, % charged and voltage? I just started using it and am curious how my little 2A charger is doing and where my battery is sitting after a week or two of my ultra-short distance driving.
I tow very infrequently, but I have taken a 4k lb trailer cross country with the cab and bed also loaded. Ranger did just fine.
Really I picked it because I had a hard $30k budget and have always liked ford. Was able to get a new 4wd XLT within budget so I jumped.
I did a few forscan mods today and I came away with more questions lol. It's one thing to read these threads when you haven't used forscan, quite another one you've used it a bit.
1. There are a lot of options for active noise canceling. All are showing disabled. Do any of those actually...
I hardwired it with a vioso cable thinking it would work since they're both usb-c. I liked that over the vantrue one because you can set a higher cutoff voltage. Then I found they're not compatible for some reason. Camera wouldn't turn on at all regardless of truck on or off. Used fuse 30 and 37...
