It was, in fact, a dealer quote.
The breakdown with out the door prices were as follows:
Parts - $1500
Labor @ 11 hours - $2100
I called my most trusted independent shop in my area and they do the service as well. He said he won’t be much cheaper and that $3,600 is a good price. Likely they...
Yeah, I really didn't even know about it. I am guilty of spending my forum time on the mods and shiny things section and not studying risky parts :D
A little unsure what to do. Truck is worth a pretty penny (also is a 2019 FX4 with lots of goodies) and I don't owe much.
I was really holding...
Great point! I’ll 100% check those two hoses through the firewall if they’re accessible. I have an appointment next week to check the Coolant system. Good ol diagnostic fee incoming, but hopefully it brings otherwise good news.
I was really hoping the coolant stuff I’d seen plus the bouncing engine heat level might mean something else.
ill have to have it looked at. Hopefully not as expensive as some of the quotes I saw floating around. Thanks for the reply, tho.
Yeah I took a look for that and tried changing temps. No clicking or banging or anything when I test for it. Unless the door just totally isn’t functioning. I may see what I can check on it since I know it isn’t in a convenient spot.
I’m sure it’s the cold blast we have going on, but my 2019 has joined the fray.
I read through several other threads, but saw a bunch of discussion about clicking under the center stack when trying to use the cabin heater. That doesn’t happen for me. System is silent, fans are strong.
I also...
d'oh! might be time to break out the turkey baster!
yeah i thought i'd looked over the user's manual to make sure there wasn't a specific level for engine temp and didn't see it. right now the engine is totally cold and the tank is reading just a bit over halfway between low and max.
probably...
This is a bit of a weird one, but I have a hunch that there's a simple explanation.
My coolant level a couple of months ago was a little low, so I topped it off to the max fill line. It's the orange coolant that Ford used on the early 2019 Rangers.
A couple of weeks ago I had the hood open...
i'm truly not trying to be an ass, but as a simple (but not permanent) solution can you just park facing uphill instead? the back of that engine by the #4 cylinder looks like it has a gap that fluid could easily drain down the back of the engine.
not a permanent fix, but looks like it could...
had some heavy rain here in western ohio this morning. my 2019 xlt fx4 lives outside year round and i squeezed the plastic bits to check that spongey material. sure enough, it oozed a little water, but not a lot. looking at the engine bay, i couldn't really find any evidence that it was pooling...
I'm not ultra knowledgeable on RTT's, but when I researched them for my 4Runner, ARB was the brand I nearly bought into. Developed in Australia, they have a huge focus on keeping their wonderful critters out. IIRC they're bug proof, or something. OP, if you go for a RTT then don't forget to...
At $2.29 for the bottle it's about 10% of the current market price for this part, but even that couldn't put a damper on my mood. i enjoyed my icy cold tasty treat!
i talked to 3 different dealers and none of them seemed familiar with the use of this part for the bucking/surging. i'd guess that means no, but you never know... some of the dealers acted like they were unaware that bucking/surging happens with the ranger at all. it's really hit or miss, and...
Ok, swinging in for another detailed data point. I was experiencing the issues detailed in this thread: low rpm bucking/surging. It was growing worse as I let it linger on and I was beginning to experience it at speeds up to 45mph.
I'd always press the +/- button on the shifter so I could watch...
Well mine is a MY19 and I feel like I'm missing stuff!
I just started getting this bucking effect in the 40k-ish mile range and over 5,000 miles it is a routine occurrence.
I just ordered the part off the Varsity link you shared Az, and it was only $22 + shipping. Threw me off because I was...
I'm a younger guy, but WOT is a very common acronym to me due to being a motorcycle rider as well. It turns up in articles for bikes all the time. I never gave it a second thought til reading this thread.
