I have seen the Cobra footwells, much more complicated than the tin work on a 33. There are a few small pieces that are mounted during final assembly but this is the extent of the aluminum panels. Fitting the trunk, doors, hood and side panels has been a much more tedious undertaking for me.
In some cases that is true. Especially in the US product standards that require certification are to protect users from harm they do not ensure functionality or quality. The performance standards are not certification requirements. The US governments expectation is the market will weed out...
That describes me to a tee, I get extra bacon on everything I order. When I get a salad I always order extra dressing. My favorite response to comments about extra dressing is; "I like a little salad with my dressing".
FWIW, I have a motorized jack on the front of the trailer that has a 7 pin connector on it with just the +12v and ground wires connected.
When I plug it in with the engine off there is no power. As soon as I start the truck I get power to run the jack but do not get the trailer connected...
FWIW, self certification is the way of the world for most all commercial products these days.
Flip over your PC and look at all the certification marks. Some examples are: the stylized FCC is a US self certification mark, the CE is a European self certification mark and the Tick mark is an...
FWIW, the company I retired from fired the incoming CEO for an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate. They gave him a 4 million dollar severance. He is now the CEO of another large defense contractor.
Anyone remember the TV show, "United States of Bacon"? It was a good show that went around the country sampling different ways of preparing bacon. The opening credits had a huge stack of bacon like the poster earlier in this thread.
Thanks everyone that responded, certainly has given me a lot to check.
A little more about my trailer. It's empty weight is 3240 lbs, the empty tongue weight is 325 lbs. I have two 20lb propane bottles and two batteries mounted up front raising the tongue weight to around 500 lbs. There is a 40...
I purchased a used 17' camper this past spring (see picture). We have gone camping three times and on the way home from the last trip I got up to about 65 and the trailer started swaying. As soon as I slowed down it stopped, traffic was such that I never got above 60 again and no swaying. On...
FWIW, I didn't use any cleecos. Marked all the panels with a sharpie where the frame members run, using the supplied gauge drilled all the panels, placed/clamped the panels in place, drilled the frame on opposite corners, riveted those places and then drilled and riveted the rest of the panel...
I am in process of building one of their 33 Speedstar kits. The chassis is a pretty straight forward bolt together but the fiberglass is taking a lot more work than I anticipated.
I checked out that particular truck the last time I stopped in to Factory Five. Quite impressive if you are looking for a Pre-Runner but not something I would ever be interested in.
You really don't need the colder spark plugs or the colder thermostat otherwise it's a good package. You can likely save a buck by just buying the BDX and tune without the thermostat and plugs.
FWIW, the retail on the LED tail light assembly without the BLiSS module is about $1200. The online parts places like Tasca and Quirk were getting around $725. When I broke my tail light the assembly was on national back order and after waiting about 8 weeks I got a used one off eBay for $500...
FWIW, my 2001 Dakota with the 545RFE automatic had two filters. Both are under the pan, a conventional looking pancake filter and a small spin on canister filter.
A few truths when it comes to used car buying or selling;
1. Everyone thinks their car is worth more than they can reasonably expect to get.
2. Dealers don't use NADA or Blue Book for establishing trade in values. Their sources are typically 50% less than those sources and are based on what they...
FWIW, you will find if you try to order the stripes from Ford they will be 3 or 4 times the cost of the option if ordered with the truck.
Most every vehicle I have owned I have added some sort of graphics to them. As long as the vinyl being used is 3M Automotive grade they will last for 10 or...
