If any Ranger has the power distribution screen that is a mistake from the factory. It is useless with a conventional 4x4, it would be like have the heated steering wheel icon on your sync screen, doesn't do anything.
Doing that is no different than turning the truck off and opening the door then restarting the truck. It's convenient in that you can do it while driving.
FWIW, Cyanlabs pulled down 3.4.23088 when the initial release turned out to be bit for bit identical to 3.4.22251. A month or so later the actual 3.4.23088 became available and was reposted on Cyanlabs. Some folks have actually had 3.4.23088 become available to them on the Ford Sync site...
FWIW, I had been on 3.4.22251 for months and never had an issue until I got a new phone then started having occasional issue with Sync not communicating with the phone for phone calls (texting was fine). I updated to 3.4.23088 and haven't had an issue for over a month.
Never had an issue with keeping night mode on any release back to 2.x.xxxxx that came on my 17 Mustang including 3.4.22251. Never used satellite radio on any of the vehicles that came with it so I can't comment there.
The Power Distribution screen on a Ranger is a useless function. In 2wd you will see 0% to the front and 100% to the rear. In 4x4 you will see 50/50. My 21 Lariat Tremor does not have the power distribution screen.
Since there is no center differential like an AWD vehicle 1/2 the power goes to...
I do a master reset after every up date as a matter of course. It only takes a few minutes to pair your phone and enter any presets.
I just used Cyanlabs to update from 3.4.22251 to 3.4.23088, it has fixed an issue I was having with Sync not communicating with my new phone.
Yes!
The 5W in the multiviscosity rating represents the viscosity of the oil at 0 degrees F. The -50 represents the viscosity at 212 degrees F. They are measured two completely different ways. Even straight 5 weight oil is measured at 100 degrees F. None of the numbers can be directly compared...
Virtually all engines for the past 20 years or so have had low tension piston rings.
Upwards of 60% of the friction in an internal combustion engine comes from the piston rings. Reducing this friction translates directly to increased power and economy.
Horse Power TV demonstrated this on a...
Don't know where you got that idea but that is not true.
Low tension rings don't need the higher viscosity oil to provide adequate lubrication but other than some added friction and the resulting lower fuel mileage higher viscosity oils can/do provided better film strength under extreme...
FWIW, the 2.3 Ecoboost in the Mustang recommends 5w-30 for every day driving but recommends 5w-50 for track use. The 2.3 Ecoboost is rated for 20 more HP when you order the High Performance Package and it recommends 5w-50 for all driving conditions. There is nothing mechanically different in...
FWIW, my Lariat Tremor is carbonized grey. I would not have purchased that color if it was not for the Tremor graphics package and the red nostrils. To that I added red tow hooks and red/black logos front and rear.
I would have liked the red stiching on the seats but it wasn't a big deal. The...
The Ford Performance ProCal 4 is a rebranded Livernois MyCalibrator. The Livernois software can see and read my ProCal so you may be able to use it to install Livernois tunes. Give them a call and find out.
Well with all the advice I got I went to the Reese web site and down loaded the instructions for the hitch I have as well as the instructions for the sway bar.
It's quite an involved process for setting up the hitch that requires you measure the height of the front of the truck that when you...
Well Shell is a Top Tier fuel provider so they do have more detergent additives than a non Top Tier. I doubt their 93 has more than there 87.
FWIW, one of the better known 2.3 Ecoboost Mustang tuners says he won't tune your vehicle if you use Shell gasoline. Something about the additives...
It used to before fuel injection became main stream but these days there is a government mandated minimum that is the same for all octanes. Top Tier gas will have more than the minimum but again it will be the same for all octanes.
