I would try light tapping with a rubber hammer under the truck to see if you can reproduce the rattle. Check especially exhaust and heat shields which can collect gravel or make contact with body. You might also run the truck and shift back and forth between P D R ( foot firmly on brake) while...
If you look at one of the other (more easily accessed) bulbs, you will see/feel a little tab on the side of the connector. Push that little tab in and the connector should pull right off. If it's tight in there ask someone with smaller hands.
The 2nd gen Taco with the 4.0 never had that problem, but relative to the new Ranger it was pretty thirsty.. 17 mpg unburdened was about as good as it got. What I most hated on road trips was the poorly controlled cruise control. On a grade it would let the speed drop 4-5 mph and then, finally...
This was mentioned in previous posts, I solved by removing the electrical connector first, and that should provide you clearance to rotate the bulb enough to remove it. The Auxitos are auxsome.
How does your truck sit with the 200 lb gear out? Wondering if Ford hiked the rear on purpose to compensate for normal settling over time?
When I first got my Ranger (2wd), the rear end seemed comically high relative to the front, but it looks more balanced now. Whether the change happened on...
All good points, and it does makes you wonder when a useful component or feature goes missing from its model, even a tie-down or folding headrest when offered previously.
Whatever the reason, perceptions do matter and it would have been better to not offer the item in the first place than to...
I consider myself brand loyal as I had 4 Rangers before I bought my 2nd gen Tacoma, which had 100k when I bought it and 200k when I sold it. Great truck, and I may well have stayed with Toyota. But the the 3rd gen was/is a big letdown in several areas, while the Ranger upped its game. It feels...
Yes there were a few on my local dealers lot. Maybe just me but the Broncos look cooler in photos than in person. Probably didn't help that everything on the lot was covered in pollen, it must be spring.
To be fair, the Tacoma frame issues were inadequate rustproofing on 1st and 2nd gen model frames through 2010, which made the frames vulnerable to rust perforation in snow belt states.
Thanks for replies. Waze is on my phone (only) and switches to truck display through Android Auto when phone is connected to the truck USB. Usually takes 5-10 seconds to initialize. At that point, I can't access Waze on my phones screen unless I unplug it-- normal? Also when I use the steering...
Coming from a 2nd gen Tacoma, I feel Toyota earned its credibility over the years. And like the Jeep Wrangler, the Tacoma enjoys a cult-like following that the Ranger has yet to match. But just like in an actual cult, you must suspend some reality in order to be a member. Because this 3rd gen...
