"Laboring" the engine does NOT mean revving the snot out of it, it actually means the opposite i.e. lugging it at low rpm in too high a gear. Which is not possible in our automatic-only only Rangers, so these break-in instructions were written for a manual trans vehicle.
I'm also impressed with the extended oil change intervals of today's modern engines and oils , but I will still do mine at 5k. Because, turbo. In my locale, the brutal summer Fla heat and towing add additional stresses the vehicle's computer may not be factoring in. Changing the oil at more...
Actually on the Ranger if you didn't know better (as we do), the fuel door appears to be locked if you try to pull on it. Only the savvy saboteur would think to push on it to release it.
Off topic a bit, but I found it odd that my truck (2020 XLT Sport) in Magnetic Gray has a silver front apron. Looks like it was swapped from a silver truck, but my sales guy confirmed that's the way they come. Kinda weird, I'm not sure it enhances the styling but reckon I'll live with it.
Somewhat related, on my truck I disliked having to push the unlock button twice on the fob to unlock the passenger side, and that exiting the vehicle, I would walk around to to put something in bed and often find the tailgate..locked. Aargh !! At next dealer visit we changed key setting to...
Glad you got it fixed, and it seems odd that this happened in the first place. In all the vehicles I have owned and/or worked on, I do not recall any with a hydraulic brake hose long enough to reach the wheel/tire, even with the attachment hardware removed. Hopefully Ford spots and corrects this...
No, that doesn't sound right, especially if you are smelling raw gas. The fuel dilution issue is internal, if you are smelling raw gas I would suspect an external leak. These systems are running two fuel pumps, with the fuel rail psi in the thousands, and that pressure will fluctuate between...

OP, in your original post you didn't mention but does the clunk happen after you come to a stop and start to ease up on brake pedal? If so, it's the dry spline issue Ranger33566 mentions. I had it on my previous truck, a Tacoma. Pretty common on trucks with automatics, and pretty...
I have a 2020 XLT 4x2 and added my own hitch. Love this truck but I do find the front end a bit bouncy on some surfaces, otherwise it is very smooth. That is a very valid point made by Cabose about the overinflated tires, this seems to be a common issue on dealer lots and worth checking before...
Agreed, observed same this morning on my non-Ranger (BMW) vehicle. When I left the 70 mph interstate for the 45 mph divided highway, I watched the fuel range increase for awhile until it finally leveled off and then started decreasing. On the Ranger, I believe the computer is calculating DTE...
Reminds me of an episode when Fred bought a bottle of wine for his date.
LaMont: "59, huh? Was that a good year?"
Fred: "No, but it was a good price!"
Fred also used to mix cheap champagne with Ripple. He called it "Champipple"
These days most manufacturers have moved to the water borne base coat/ clear coat systems which are more environmentally friendly than traditional bc/cc systems but not as tough against the elements.
This thread took some turns, but it was interesting reading. Back to the prerunner discussion, I never got why the Toyota Prerunners were always 2wd, but makes sense now.
