  1. For those that like to test the fuel gauge accuracy...

I am notorious for running out of gas, and it is certainly better to avoid that for many reasons. However, a week ago I did manage to run out of gas. Not once, but technically twice. I was headed to WY on a fishing trip, the first time I syphoned the gas out of my generator and that got me a few...
  2. Pistol Mount ideas?

I have RuffTuff tactical seat covers. There is a pistol pocket below the seat between my legs.
  3. travel trailer - non towing insurance question

I have had all my insurance through USAA for many years. They stopped covering travel trailers a couple years ago and partnered up with Progressive to provide that coverage. So I just went with that. Not too long ago it was $12/month on our pop-up through USAA.
  4. travel trailer - non towing insurance question

I have pretty much ā€œfull coverageā€ on ours: Comp/Collision/Total Loss/Roadside Assistance. Through Progressive it’s $45/month. Except for our house, this camper is the most expensive thing we own. It’s worth the peace of mind.
  5. Tire Jack options for bigger wheels

Grumpaw always has good advise, and he doesn't disappoint now. https://safejacks.com/ Lifts the truck with no problem. But also has the right setup to lift my off-road camping trailer.
  6. Other uses for overhead sunglass holder

I’m from Colorado…it’s for your stash.
  7. What else is there?

Last Friday marked the two year anniversary of purchasing my 2021 Ranger. A Supercrew XLT 4x4 w/Tremor package. Just over 32,000 miles and only minor issues. I really like the truck. Starting to think about long-term ownership and getting concerned about some of the transmission issues that are...
  8. A few better known off road jaunts in Colorado

Agreed! CoTrex is great. I wish some of our nearby states would develop something similar. Big plus, you can save the maps and still view them on your iPad when you lose coverage.
  9. A few better known off road jaunts in Colorado

Drove Tincup Pass a couple times years ago in my stock ā€˜99 Ranger 4x4 SCAB. I mostly remember that it wasn’t the roughest road that I took that little truck on. Imogene Pass is the only other one on that list that I’ve been over.
  10. Out West

Last Spring, boondocking for a week near Moab, we didn’t see one other Ranger. If you’re feeling brave, check out Shafer Canyon Road in Canyonlands. Between the entrance gate and the Visitors Center. Unforgettable drive!
  11. RECALL

Nothing printed on the sticker has any affect on the trucks capacity or ability.

    What is "proper offroading"?
  13. Open diff vs. rear e locker - did I make a mistake?

Love all the Cactus Grey Rangers in the avatars! Great shots!
  14. Open diff vs. rear e locker - did I make a mistake?

I have been 4-wheeling in the Colorado/Wyoming/Montana mountains for over 40 years. This is the first truck I have had with a rear locker. My experience has shown that it is in no way required for my adventures, but now that I have it...it sure is nice! Kind of like air conditioning, don't...
  15. Any trailer over 1650 pounds needs brakes?

Since we’re talking brakes, it’s not about how it tows…but how it stops in an emergency situation. ?
  16. Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground

That Tron ride looks pretty cool! I've owned more motorcycles then trucks, so it's right up my alley. I remember the Back To The Future simulated roller coaster back in the day, the technology has come a long way. That pic was taken on the way up to Mosquito Pass. Driving from Fairplay to...
  17. Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground

Disney Land almost 30 years ago! Nothing but good memories. The Princess and I don't have children, so we do Disney a little different than most. My father lived out side of Ft. Myers for a while, we'd hit Disney World every few years. My favorite ride in Orlando was the the Richard Petty...
  18. Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground

We haven't done Disney in many years, but that sounds like a great way to go about it. EPCOT is always great, better then Disney World for us. Thanks for the review.
  19. How much lift up front is reasonable? Is 3" the limit?

For the love of god, don't go too high. That really looks stupid!
