I should clarify better, so my apologies. I would like to see additional power at WOT because my goal is quick ETs. A dyno would help show that, so looking for some data if it exists. My rig is a lowly 2wd base model SuperCab, thus no off-roading or towing goals for me, just going to instead try...
Hi 5gers! Does anyone have a before / after dyno when an aftermarket intercooler has been installed. I know for the Montune setup they have a lot of data showing it’s more efficient, but I’m interested to see how much more power that translates to?
Thanks!!
I’ll share something regarding DI engines I had happen to me and why I now believe in catch cans for them, NA or FI. I have a 2012 Infiniti QX56 with 90k. Great motor, zero issues until this: I get a hairline crack in intake manifold along PCV ports due to heat. No biggie, grab another off lower...
I was not purchasing the AFE scoop due to not having a seal like the factory scoop does. So glad you found a weatherstripping solution. Which kind did you use? Thanks!
@Frenchy - Good question from @txquailguy. Have you found oil pressure or oil temp gauges in the MyCalibrator tool by chance? Maybe description of gauge is cryptic like others haha.
Hey that’s helpful info. Thank you!
What does BP represent (boost pressure?) and how are you calculating boost pressure between MAP and BP?
What are the names of the gauges to select for the trans temp and Cylinder head temp? I’ve looked for the trans temp under the trans set of gauges but...
@Frenchy - Do you know of a guide from Livernois to all the gauge options on the Procal tool? I’ve tried the A/F gauge but some of the numbers I get on that gauge and others in the Procal make no sense. Feel like I need a “Procal for Idiots” guide. Right now I monitor IAT / Coolant / Tire Pressures.
If anyone has figured out how to get this Procal tool to display boost pressure in PSI I’d appreciate the insight. Kinda sucks not being able to when other tools like the 5star Tuning tool can.
I run the FP tune (which is Livernois resold by Ford Performance) in tow mode and traction control off all day every day. Creates the aggressive driving experience I was looking for when getting a tune in the first place. The truck feels “hungry”.
Engine braking downshifts are aggressive, I...
I have the AVS stick-on visors after having great luck with them on my 99 Ranger vs the in-channel. I find that the design of the stick-ons is more bulbous vs slim style of the in-channel, allowing for more airflow and being able to crack the windows more too. Here’s a pic:
For sure the Velossatech helps overcome the crappy air feed design to feed the air box scoop, but it only has it greatest effects at higher speed. If launching from a dead stop the the Velossatech cant help until halfway through your 1/4 mile run. If you aren’t trying to go as fast as possible...
If you remove the radiator shroud / cowl and hold it up to the hood you can see how much of a restriction the .75in tall air path between the air scoop inlet to the 6x2 Air feed hole in the radiator shroud / cowl is. All intakes using the factory air feed from the radiator shroud / cowl area...
