  1. Windshield Tinting

Same here, mostly done on exotics. They also told me that if your''re outside a lot, the clear will start to yellow in 2-3 years.
  2. Windshield Tinting

In Arizona, where road chips are always cracking windshields, several companies now apply a tint/protection film from the outside. Supposedly the chips will bounce off without cracking the glass. But it's expensive -- over $900.
  3. Tom Woods Driveshaft ordered and installed!

Didn't know that, thanks! I guess that may explain why no one with a Tremor has (yet) complained of vibration.
  4. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

They sure deleted a lot of stuff that wouldn't have cost much to include!
  5. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

Thank you! I think that answers my question: you do it for maintenance and knowledge of where the level is at. And towing does make a difference!
  6. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

Yes, of course. I was just reading these threads and was trying to understand why people would choose and expensive $250 dipstick, or any non-OEM dipstick over just letting the dealer deal with it.
  7. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

Whatever it costs, it costs. It's a one time deal, and probably well worth my time figuring it all out the first and only time.
  8. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

Okay, so I do it at 100,000 miles....I'm still doing it just once...selling it before it hits 200K.
  9. Remote Transmission Dip Stick Aftermarket Support?

Ford recommends changing transmission fluid every 150,000 miles. If you own your truck for 300,000 (I won't), then you do it once. The cost is: "The average cost for a Ford Ranger Transmission Fluid Change is between $215 and $252. Labor costs are estimated between $141 and $178 while parts...
  10. Ranger Wifi

I like the Sirius XM, but every year when the re-up your bill, it is way higher. I call in and tell them I'm canceling due to cost. They say just a minute, we're running deal right now, and suddenly the cost is one-half. Have done that three times.
  11. Tom Woods Driveshaft ordered and installed!

It is an unbelievable defect if it affects to many. Vehicles today are NOT working as designed if they vibrate.
  12. Tom Woods Driveshaft ordered and installed!

I guess I'm trying to figure out why some have the shakes. Whether it is the Tremor set-up, whether is is just variation in the quality of the OEM drive shaft, whether it is from an aftermarket lift that just created vibrations. If you have an unmodified truck that shakes, why wouldn't Ford fix...
  13. Tom Woods Driveshaft ordered and installed!

I can't figure this out. I see so many people making changes their driveshaft. I bought a 2023 Tremor in January. It has been 100% smooth running since day one. Just like all my F-150s before. Is it just that some Rangers have shaft problems, or maybe Tremors don't have problems. As I say...
  14. Engine cover (revisited)

No, but there are definitely two camps here!
  15. My Ranger Mutated

I know you bought a chevy, but the Ranger gets worse mileage than the F-150 in either the 2.7 or the 3.5, I owned both. The 2.7 got 20.5 mpg, the 3.5 got 19.5, and my 2023 Ranger gets 18.5. YMMV
  16. Desulfator -- question on install

I guess I'll try to connect it without removing the terminals. Hook it up to the crossbolt.
  17. Desulfator -- question on install

I have ordered an onboard desulfator from RVupgrades. During the install, if I remove the nut from the battery terminal, even briefly, will that mess up the electronics?
  18. Transmission Woes

How much does it cost to replace the tranny with a brand new one?
