Just built a house. Split unit w gas heat unit in attic and pan drain running out under the eves. HVAC guy says if we Ever see Any drips coming from that drain to call them Immediately, so it’s just kind of a fail safe. Should be a galvanized pan anyway.
Yes there are several issues (power top hydraulic systems, Air bags, SBC Brake system, etc.) that just Will go bad and need repair sooner or later, on many of the somewhat older high-end models. Thats a good thing about this GLK, it's the same level of simplicity as my Ranger, heck the Ranger...
The warranties vary from 1 yr to 5 yrs with independent shops or chain shops depending on a bunch of factors I guess. My $$, I believe, would still go to the best possible indy shop where they are gonna implement key upgrades and end up with a unit that will outperform and outlast a factory one...
Nope..Nope... With your milage, if you did not want to tackle it yourself (and I don't blame you), I would find a good transmission specialty shop in your area. You will get potentially less expensive repair but also a MUCH BETTER and more thorough repair.

Thats great to hear that its been good too. I've ran across some kinda horror stories on the diesels, but its the same stuff most modern diesels suffer from these days like some filters (?)clogging and going into limp mode etc.
