Michelins in general have a great rep for smooth ride but what's interesting is their Michelin A/T2 doesn't have the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) Symbol. My brother has these on his F150 but has been disappointed with their performance in snow and they are wearing faster than expected...
"Ahhh nightmares of Firestone and Ford exploders.... ?"
If I remember correctly this issue had to do with under inflation. I actually owned an Explorer at the time of this issue and never had a problem with those Tires but I also kept up with maintenance which included checking tire pressure.
Best? not sure but - Wow - a well rated A/T, and these are making quite few people happy.
Granted these are not as aggressive as many of the other choices.
And look at the reviews:
I just bought a set.
So I will tell you how it goes.
Yeah I get it. I bought my 5G Lariat used and only cost 30k. It is in excellent shape and most would consider as new. Previous owner took immaculate care of it. Saved a bundle buying used and left plenty of wiggle room for a few mods.
I got to tell you, for me, the Ranger 5Gg Lariat is just about as nice a pickup as I could ever own.
Not too big not too small. A bit of a different vibe than the XLTs and XLs - although still real nice..
I've seen the 6G over in Europe in the Tremor and XLT respective packages and they are...
After some careful inspection of my front FX4 struts on my Lariat - I found a vertical and horizontal crack on the white plastic cap which Ford calls the bearing. At 35K miles on the truck, l think best to just replace both struts.
I really liked the ride on my XLT with the FOX 2.0 struts so I...
Don't see much mention of these here but they look like a good alternative if you don't want to go too aggressive but still want great traction. I read quite a bit of reviews on these and many who have ventured are quite pleased. I getting them mounted on Tuesday. Then taking a trip to the...
I used a 265 75 R16 on my xlt and it was just perfect for that truck.
I put on a 265 70 R18 on my Lariat and it is just too much tire for me.
Lots of off road trails up at the cabins and as much as I like the look I think it is too much tire with out more investment in components and more...
Depending on what you are using your tires for I would at least consider the Cooper ST Maxx.
These are 265 75 16's on steelies on my 2022 XLT . Totally surprised and well behaved these are on the road.
That's good to know.
My newly purchased Wildpeak A/T3Ws are made in year 2023
Sounds like they are phasing them out.
No issue for us - we have been really happy with the A/T3s
Looking forward to the longer term reviews on the A/T4s
We are really happy with the Wildpeak A/T3Ws lots of different driving surfaces for a couple years on our Bronco and they are great.
Just received a set for my 2021 Ranger Lariat.
We needed a tire that could handle offroad trails to cabins in winter ice and snow but still have respectful manners...
Love to hear this.
I know we get a lot of gripes when it comes to what's wrong with our vehicles so anything positive I'll take. I guess we got to vent somewhere - it is just somewhat calming to hear the good spin from time to time.
Just went for it with a 15MM socket wrench and 15MM box wrench.
Took like 20 minutes.
Front left shifted 3/8" toward bumper Front Right shifted 5/16" toward bumper
Back Left shifted 7/16" toward cab Back right shifted 3/8" towards cab
Now granted the center of the bars didn't...
So our Ford Bronco Sport which we use all the time in the snow, offroad trails, and just about anywhere anytime needed to go in for a recall. And a tire sensor wasn't communicating with the system.
So I called end of last week and got quick help and set up a drop off day and time (which was...
