The rear axle won’t cause any issues with this. Unless the frame is bent or rear axle is seriously misaligned. The oem driveshaft has an allowance for balancing based on how much the oem bushing can absorb. All that absorption is a lack of efficiency. Im trying to find a happy medium between...
  2. OIL AND WATER DON’T MIX?

Yes get the fluid level checked asap. Do you have a temp gauge? The foaming over will happen at 240 plus degrees.

Go wiggle your stock driveshaft lol. There is no softer bushings unless you want to use a balloon. I was amazed by the movement. The softer bushing from JXB is substantially harder than stock. Overall driving experience is more solid but smooth. The street bushing was extremely solid...

  7. Veteran's Thought: Which Truck Would You Choose Besides Ranger5G?

To be fair all fords had a damper on their tailgates since about 04-05 depending on when that model got redesigned. It was a torsion rod in the tailgate. You just couldn’t see it. But when they were broke on the superduty you really felt that sissy Howie Long step.

The spacers made mine feel worse. I am not cutting holes in my bushing so I didn’t try it. I do want to try the street bushing on the bottom and the new bushing with holes on top. Give me a balance. Because with the new bushing there is some more play but far better than stock. I really...
  11. JXB Driveshaft Center Support

Technically yes. You are supposed to shim the rear axle so the pinion faces slightly more up. But 1-3 inches is probably fine unless you experience shudder. Will your u joints fail at 150k instead of 175k? Maybe, or maybe not. The added shudder after lifting is the tell tale sign. You...
  12. Transmission "Jolt" when stopping - Feels like something hitting the bed

The newest transmission is butter smooth. My wife’s expedition has one that is 8 months old. Never felt a 10r80 this nice. Like they finally figured it out. Guess that means I might be looking at number 3 for the truck in the next 70k.

  17. JXB Driveshaft Center Support

I have 5100s on the lowest setting other than stock. It is like 0.8” or something. If anything it improves the driveline angle by shifting weight backwards. I added a washer between the top isolation bushing and the cross member today. See pics. Less vibration. I will try their other...
  18. Anyone who has a Tom Woods Driveshaft Installed

I didn’t when I lubed the splines before winter. A ratchet and socket won’t fit but ratchet end wrenches do.
  19. Anyone who has a Tom Woods Driveshaft Installed

Not when you unbolt the driveshaft from the axle. Then you have freedom of movement. Rear end can stay on the ground as long as you can fit under the truck.
