Folks don't believe me but the UHSS (Ultra High Strength Steel) is ultimately strong but very easy to dent in this fashion. Door dings, hail, hitting it too hard with your knuckle etc. Aluminum body panels actually resist these types of dents more effectively.
Funny I just heard this same incessant clicking sound only 2 days ago after 1.5 yrs of ownership. I was listening to radio but with key and engine off.
AS long as there is NO possible contact between door and fender its only an issue if you want it to be. We all paid through the nose for these trucks so we want them as perfect as possible and that's understandable.
Absolutely they are correct. I’m kinda surprised they body worked it for you, even though they didn’t have far to go. Alum body work requires a dedicated and socialized set of body tools and new techniques. No cross use with body tools used on steel on account of steel particles being embedded...
