Hey Steve\Mishimoto, any update to when the pre-sale will begin? Or how far along you guys are in development?? 60%? 80%? 30%?
Anxious to see the final product\buy.
Thanks!
For what its worth I had a rough ride with SPD, I got the downpipe and its the revised model. They indicated that on our trucks a full 3inch exhaust isn't of benefit, but it really sucks to lose the 3inch option given if you ever want to do an upgraded turbo your hacking up a 550 dollar-ish...
I just added a downpipe w\cat to my Borla setup and i've been trying to decide if I should add another resonator\muffler.
Do you know the ID\OD of this resonator? Is it a true 3in? The midpipe is 2.5 is it not? Why not use their 2.5 version...
That's super helpful, I bet its a PITA to get access to number 5, on my Focus ST that was the sensor I neglected to clean until about 85k miles that made a big drivability difference and resolved a mid 3k RPM shudder\mis style condition.
Greetings 5g Ranger crew,
On my last EcoBoost vehicle I made it part of my 10-15k maint schedule to pull the MAP(MAPT) sensors off my Focus ST's 2.0 and give them a spray down with MAF cleaner, this actually cleared up a pretty serious "Mis-fire" like condition I had at 85k miles on my ST...
This has my full attention now. It's been in prototype for awhile any kind of ETA on a projected release? Does this replace the factory air dam that pipes into the bottom of the intake box?
Sorry if I missed it but does this come with a new turbo to downpipe gasket? If not does anyone have the ford factory number, I'm always concerned reusing exhaust gaskets.
But still clutch driven right? My entire experience with E-fans was almost always less cooling performance then a properly setup clutch fan. Both have pros\cons. But the Ranger's fan seems excessively loud and when you rev\apply load\throttle you can really hear it over the sound of...
I think, that the amount of noise the stock rad fan makes, is what makes this 4cyl sound so..meh, I have an AFE intake and Turbosmart BPV, and you can't tell they are installed, which is nice...and not, you rarely hear either.
That's super nifty, It sounds like you're probably at the top of the game with bolts for the Ranger, I think because the platform is more limited in number, that we will need to look at the other 2.3 platforms for things we can piggyback onto and install from the Focus or Mustang, I was...
Not a bad idea, at 15.8 my factory filter
You could always try doing just a Tune, even with no other mods it would really make a noticeable difference, Tunes on forced induction always make a huge improvement vs on Naturally aspirated in this guys opinion.
You could also look into a pedal...
I'd mind you that the Ecoboost mustang guys call them ecobooms for a reason. I plan to do full bolts (CAI, TurboBack, Tune, Intercooler\Charge Pipes, BPV) and i've ordered most of that . But I dont think i'd do much more simply because its a truck at the end of the day.
Im curious about...
Turbos by nature have a lag to them, but I wonder if it isn't the drive-by-wire system. Have you considered a Tune? Or maybe something as minor as a pedal commander might make your experience better, although i'd recommend an actual Tune vs a Pedal commander.
